You can use a series here or there in a close game, where you can see Taquon is getting a little tired or taken a few solid shots, to give him a little breather and a chance to watch the game play out by coach’s side to get a different perspective on what the defense is doing. If Oliver is looking capable and effective, I would hope we take that kind of approach. Reps with the first team O against the opponents first team D are so much more valuable than garbage time reps with/against backups. Now if he’s not looking like he can be effective with our offense, then you save his reps for garbage time.
Start with garbage time then go to what you suggest. With limited playbook. I dunno...maybe.

I distinctly remember Tevin getting playing time against NC State when we were getting whipped so I don't buy the CPJ is stubborn argument here. In 2010, CPJ knew he would have a new starter the following year. That wasn't the case last year, so he stuck with Taquon.
