The end of the bag man cometh.
Basically High School kids will be auctioned off, like some property now. Bigger schools with bigger budgets will get the players. Scholarships are soon to become secondary.... I foresee this getting out of hand quick. Kids that want money, should just be allowed to jump to the NFL. lets the kids that want to go to school, do so.
Lol yeah like they are going to be able to police thatInteresting quote from the article:
“Ackerman said finding a way to prevent boosters and "overzealous individuals" from using endorsements as a way to pay for athletic performance or recruiting enticements remains one of their chief concerns. NCAA members will have to figure out a way to use school compliance officers and NCAA staff to make sure that endorsement deals reflect a real market value for the services provided.”
Right... this isnt basketballlol. An 18 y/o body competing with grown men in the NFL good luck with that one
Perhaps another recruiting tool for the likes of Bama, Texas, OSU, etc.? "On average, our players earn an additional $X per player from incentives over the average NCAA players at schools like X,Y and Z". A few players such as Burrow, Hurts, etc. could really skew these numbers a great deal. Similar to how we use starting salaries of our grads and lifetime earnings potential to our pool of potential recruits.
Perhaps create the XFL to be a 3 year semi-pro league? Either way, buying playing is bad for the game.lol. An 18 y/o body competing with grown men in the NFL good luck with that one
Also, if said 18 year old is only interested in money, that's their choice. I sure didn't get any passes for being 18, while going through Marine boot camp. I have zero sympathy for those that choose their own path, where greed is involved.lol. An 18 y/o body competing with grown men in the NFL good luck with that one
Sounds like they saw the writing on the wallor
“With the joint venture with J1S Sports, GT athletes have been able to monetize their social media platforms and expand their reach outside of football. With the increased visibility and brand strength GT athletes have avg. $10k in outside revenue. This includes YT views, Twitter/ IG influence, and TikTok.
