If he can. Warming up before Miami he never threw a pass over 10 yards. Physically it may not be possible.
Our team is played solid and King was very careful to just dink and run. Plan is to keep getting healthier as we head toward bowl game. Expect more called plays for other qbs. We should be able to run the bawwl and defense should get violent. With limited King TEAM can win big against ncst.

This Tech team seems to respond well to fan support and is a very tough out in BDS. Being a night game in BDS and coming off a big win over the #4 team in the country, there is no doubt that the atmosphere for this game will inspire our kids to play well. We can win this game with King and either a healthy Pyron or Philo, take your pick.
From past experiences, my major concern about this game is that I feel so good about it. 🙂

This should have our attention:

N.C. State last played that same Saturday, but was not as fortunate in its outcome, losing 29-19 at home to Duke. A head-scratching box score told the story of the Wolfpack holding Duke to 31 rushing yards and 0-for-9 on third down tries while NCSU itself went 5 of 6 in the red zone — yet still lost by 10.

It got mine - I went and looked and they are very up and down on run D. Clemson, Tennessee, and Stanford all ran for 200+ yards on them, but they have several games like Duke where their opponent couldn't run much.

I think we already know the run game is our key to success, just a matter of whether we can execute.

Adding a note that doesn't necessarily fit this thread but idk where else to put it: Georgia Tech is currently 2nd in all of FBS in sacks allowed (4), only surpassed by Army (3). The next closest P4 teams are Penn State, Kansas, and Ok State which have each allowed 9. That is crazy.

Duke only rushed for 74 yards on 20 carries against the Jackets. They're rushing for less than 100 yds. a game and a 3.2 average per carry on the season, so their poor showing against the Wolfpack is probably more about Duke's puny rushing game than NC State's rushing defense.

I feel HK needs to pass downfield to keep them from stacking the box so we can run against them. We need to take what they will give us and if they stack the box, we need to throw.
Then you’re going to be disappointed. If King could throw downfield you would’ve seen it during the Miami game. When he threw screens it looked like a shot put not a pass, so we should assume that he won’t recover until the off-season.

After miami he is planning on improving by thursday but focus is on slow and steady.

Against ncst a team that can beat a top 10 team with talented recievers and a qb hiesman candidate should do ok with an improving king.

After miami goal was 100 % by bowl.

We completely dominated Dook in every phase of the game but the score. Our D played a great game and the O put up over 400 yards.
True dat, but the score was close enough...too close for comfort it would seem. My impressions in watching Duke and NC State was that Duke was superior on both lines. NC State, it would seem, has disappointed its fans that expected a top 25 or so team.

I am being hopeful. You could be right. Some injuries take a long time or there may be intervention. I personally am dealing with a strained knee from golf and it is taking forever to heal. I have hopes he is recovering week to week and his injury is healing. We will nor know until Thursday night.

NCSU has had several good teams the past few years. We really need to beat them to get the best bowl possible.

Good time to learn how to win as a favorite against a respectable opponent. Take care of business!
last year we had trouble until we beat Virginia in Charlottesville which IMO was the true turning point of last season.

We've been much better as a favorite this year, our only real slip up was @ Syracuse but since then we've done well.

NC State is beatable, we just need to hope our guys aren't too banged up. That Miami game was a meat grinder of a game.

Assuming play tough in lose to uga, i agree against ncst we must win to not go to a crappie bowl.

Its how we win, that will determine if we go to good bowl.

Playing tough play against uga - the following
Must win - No king
With 2 backup qbs that have not won a game, we need them to look great and show we can beat a down team without king. Tv money ever going with a tcu like cinderella story that could collapse in good bowl.

With both teams resting, i am worried we dont respect the coaching acumen of ncst. They have a good coach

Win - king plays with the injury recovery protocol. Just win baby. We get in the planning of the bowls.

We win big, king plays with expanded protocol ( passes down field) as we repeat miami with fewer back up qb plays . We are in good bowl hunt.

If you throw out VT and ND I wonder what offense would rank.

Answer: Games where King has played we average 32.25 ppg, good enough for 7th. We play complementary football though, limit possessions and win the red zone battles

Injuries are part of every team's season. To make a fair comparison on where we would stand you would have to do the same for the other 16 Conference teams.

Our Defense has clearly improved more than I thought possible. The offense, for whatever reason, injuries included, has not.

If we beat NCST we will have had a good season in my view! No bad losses and a couple of good wins!
