Yes, it was 1 or 2 feet to the left. The kicker was so concerned with wind gusts going right he overcompensated. Not being an AE, he failed to calculate the offset wind from the students, which weakened the right ward push, hence leaving him left
I've watched the replay and stopped it to watch the trajectory of the ball.

When it crossed the LOS, it was definitely headed left and with no wind would have been 5 feet wide left.

As the ball headed south. it started drifting right until it landed in the stands. After it passed the left upright it made a slice of several feet.

If he hadn't tried to correct for the wind so much, we would still be crying in our beer.

UTSA, ULM and 2-8 Miss St, wow, that’s tough to deliver against those juggernaughts.
Texas had a very soft schedule this year. The premise that we were hurt by injuries way more than average is bunk. We had injuries but so does every team. Yea we would have been better against ND and VT with King but he wasn’t available. That’s football. Whining about injuries is candy ***!

Now that everything has been said that is relevant to the game, I just wanted to add that I randomly bumped into CBK just outside the stadium Saturday He had just done an ESPN interview up by the student center and had been dropped off, waiting for a shuttle back to the team hotel. He was by himself with no posse or security or anything. I inroduced myself and we chatted for a few moments. Nothing earth shattering and I refrained from offering any tidbits of advice even though I am replete with all kinds of football wisdom from reading the posts here on the Swarm. He seemed to enjoy interacting with a fan but I kept it brief to be respectful of his time plus I was cold and hungry and was making my way to the hotel for some bourbon and then to the V. My thoughts after chatting with the man. 1) he definitely falls into the category of people with whom you would like to have a beer with and 2) he has a killer pair of bad a$$ cowboy boots. Maybe snakeskin but I didn't ask. His passion for what he is doing and the love for the school resonated as clearly in a private conversation as it does in his media interviews.I have been a fan since day one and am excited for both him and us going forward.

I'm not sure anyone here is "whining" about injuries. Have we seen a larger amount of injuries this year? For sure. Would a few of our game had different outcomes with a healthier team? Most likely. Calling people names for disagreeing with your take seems poor form.

There are several who are. Oh we would win 10 games had we been healthy. That’s whining. Every team faces injuries and the whiners are clueless as to who is hurt on other teams. It’s tiring.

We are a good 7-4 team. Happy with the season. King plays a very physical game as a QB. Expecting him to stay healthy is rare as 3 of his 4 years actually playing he has significant injuries. It’s how he plays and who he is. Love him for how he plays and who he is but it comes at the cost of getting hurt.

I do have reservations about our game planning this year put our top two QBs in very physical schemes all year long. Some self-inflicted wounds there.

But go on, tell us all the equally significant and long-lasting injuries the “whiners” are clueless of for top 25 teams this year? We are waiting.

I’m also happy with the season but if we could swap this year with last year for injury luck we could be even happier. Possibly especially for the upcoming game.

Do your own work on the opponents we played. If you don’t know who was injured when we played an opponent you really have no interest. There have been plenty of key guys hurt for our opponents.

Good Lord you are acting like GT is the only team with injuries.

I didn't take any of that as whining. If it's tiring to you that people are bullish about our team then I don't know what to tell you.

I can promise you that name calling won't change their minds.

Lol please read more carefully.

I said injuries strike pretty much everyone, but not always as much in any given year or as importantly. Doesn't sound like "GT is the only team with injuries." And I didn't ask about our opponents. I asked about the top 25 since a win over VT would've had this GT team well-positioned to be ranked there after this weekend. "If you have fewer big injuries you're more likely to have a good season" is just basic math. Not everyone is the 2024 Dodgers and deep enough to win with three starting pitchers and a bunch of duck tape.

So far you've brought up Texas, who lost their QB1 for 3 games. King hasn't been able to throw for 4, and likely won't be able to throw for a 5th now. 5 compared to 3 seems more significant to me.

But ultimately you made the claim that every team has injuries that are basically equivalent. You need back up that claim if you believe that they have been equally significant for every team. Or just retract it.

We are a solid team but no where a 10 win team. Get real. Fantasy is fine if qualified as such. This has been a very good season to date. Enjoy my it for what it has been.

Such crap. Every team has many injuries. They are part of football.

If we scored every possession we would be undefeated.

We are 7-4. Hypothetical projections are full of - you know the word!!
Nope. I think you're wrong. Every team does not have the injuries we've had this year. Injuries are part of football and make a difference in how teams perform. If we didn't have the injuries we've had this year, we'd be 3 wins better in my opinion. You can disagree, but my opinion is as valid as yours. Go ahead, prove I'm wrong. I dare you. (y)

Fine, go to Disney and enjoy fantasy land. You are clueless to opposing team injuries.

Softball. What significant injuries has VT dealt with this year. If you don’t know that off the top of your head you are clueless.

Assuming you mean Drones/Tuten mainly here to mirror the GT QB/RB situation and since you’ve been pretty high on VT all year but since we’re pretty much all assuming King’s arm is cooked for the year and he got hurt a few weeks earlier than Drones… seems like they got off a bit lightly in comparison?

Didn't Kyron Drones play against us? They are 0-2 since Drones was injured. Seems losing a QB might make a difference.

No one's whining. We're discussing what could have been and projecting what would have been. Nothing wrong with that.

Yup injuries matter. A Drones was extremely limited vs GT. Hurt going into the game. They still won easily. Oh yea Tuten their RB who is 2nd in the ACC in rushing yards per game was hurt as well and very limited. He didn’t play the following two weeks as well. As I said all teams have significant injuries. King being hurt was a major loss for sure. Haynes missing a game+ was significant.

My point is we are not unique in this regard. It’s the nature of football. Sucks when our key guys get hurt but it is reality.

Ok so you are clueless as to other team injuries. That’s fine. Yup we would be undefeated if King and Haynes were fully healthy all season. All good.
Pretty sure that's not what I said. But, I agree it's all good. We don't have to agree. I know about a lot of different injuries to many different players. That doesn't change at all what I said about us.
