GT’s performance has been hampered by QB injuries more than most teams this year. I still believe, as stated earlier, that many of the currently ranked teams would have additional losses if they had experienced equivalent QB injuries. I gave Miami as an example, and Root gave Texas as a counterexample.
I can give another counterexample because I saw Jaxson Dart’s backup go in for a series in the Ole Miss-uga game and he played very well. But there are other examples of teams that have been carried by their starting QB who likely would not fare nearly as well with their 3rd-string.
This is all beside the point, though, because the real issue under debate is whether or not our record would be better if we had been healthy all season, particularly at the quarterback position. Given our outstanding defensive performance, I think we might have won the VT game, but we probably still lose the others, all else being equal. So, the best-case scenario would be 8-3.
