Miami Schadenfreude

that's not a good look for a fan of any team. Doesn't matter if there is a backstory (with the possible exception that these two know each other and have a friendly relationship). As you might surmise from this post, I am in my "autumn years" or whatever polite euphemism one might use for grumpy old man.
My guess is that the Miami guy was cursing and talking s**t the whole game, making everyone around him uneasy, including parents with kids, and the photo simply reflects a finger-pointing, kiss-my-a**, go-to-whatever-rock-you -crawled-out-from-under bit of closure at the end…

I stand by my previous post...it's not a good look regardless of the backstory with the possible exception of these guys being friends and they have been jawing at each other in a friendly manner. We have all sat next to those people at some point or another. If you have endured this all game, you have simply waited to late to do something.

The message above re: the Uga poster called 20 oz. Bulldog was tongue in cheek but I will not tolerate a fan (of either team) who gushes nonstop profanity in the presence of women and/or children. I am fine with cheering, that is why we all are there. Believe it or not, the few times I have gotten involved with these situations, the others have either complied with my requests (which are reasonable and they understand that at some level) or they pack up and move. Never has the situation escalated to anything more. Either way, sitting there gritting your teeth and waiting for 4+ hours to address the situation is NOT the way to deal with things.

the last time I can recall this taking place was at BDS when we were playing Clemson several years back. It was my DIL's first ever trip to ATL and BDS and we sat in the upper North next to two Clemson fans who both cursed like sailors. Oddly enough, she was far worse than her husband/boyfriend!!! It was comical in a way but it was obvious that it created a bad environment for everyone around, including their fellow Clemson fans. My DIL, who had only been to one other college FB game prior was VERY uncomfortable. They moved after our conversation, but not after uttering and mumbling vague threats under their breath in such a manner that I couldn't quite hear it but just loud enough so that they could make sure that I knew they were displeased by my (lack of) hospitality and empathy. If you were there and I flushed them into your row or sections, please accept my belated apologies.

This. I had to shut down a bunch of GT students sitting behind me at the ACC CG in 2009 who were just slinging profanity everywhere with my wife and my 12 and 14 year old girls sitting with me. They were quite drunk, but they complied and I was thankful.

I'm changing my tune. I now think the fan was simply pointing out their similar taste in sunglasses. What the camera didn't catch was the ensuing bro-hug that warmed even the most jaded of hearts.

This was actually a beautiful coming together of like-minded individuals. They come from different neighborhoods. Different fandoms. May as well be different planets. But they were brought together by a mutual adoration of eye wear.

If this were the 80's, they'd turn this moment into a sitcom and the hilariousness would consume us all. For the 2 seasons with a live studio audience. Then for the next 47 years in syndication.

So fret not, 4shot. And holster your righteous indignation. For it is misplaced in this moment. The world may be full of ugliness and sadness but, on this Saturday, we can all celebrate this waggish young gentleman not condemn him.

Thank you. No autographs....

And the entire section Responded with a heartfelt, after school special slow-clap. It was moving and beautiful, and I’m sorry all these cynical folks missed it.

Well if you're gonna be that disappointed then, yes, I will give autographs. Who should I make this out to?

Listen, if anyone is kind enough to identify sunglasses guy, I'll set up a gofundme for a bro-cation for him and the Liami fan.

Just, ya know, send me all the monies and a portion* will go to that worthy cause.

* Disclaimer: 0.0000000001% is technically "a portion".

This is why I always laugh when people act like the things said on this board or in chat during games are so horrid they don't want to come here anymore. The Tech fanbase is extremely mild compared to most.

I just looked at it, and there are 10 Hurricanes on the screen. I'm assuming they have just one returner. So I don't think they would have gotten a penalty.
According to this, Cristobal called time out because he thought Tech might run a fake punt:

"The clock ran down to the two-minute timeout. But after the break, when Georgia Tech lined up in a punt formation, Cristobal burned the first of his three second-half timeouts to get his defense prepared in case the Yellow Jackets were about to attempt a fake punt."

I was at Clemson with my 10 year old son (years ago), sitting on the cliff known as the upper deck. A Clemson student and his date were sitting behind us and he started swearing a good bit. The girl whacks him on the arm and says, "STOP SWEARING! Can't you see there a kid right in front of us?" He taps me on the shoulder and apologizes.
