BTW-The Beatles wrote groundbreaking material. I haven’t listened to this band but that’s a reach to list the Beatles in a paragraph with formulaic and contrived.

I mean, Paul said himself that they would literally write a hit to make money. Sounds formulaic and contrived to me.

AM radio back in the 60's greatly influenced how songs were written and almost "required" a certain format...3 1/2 mins with a certain structure. The early Beatles certainly wrote songs to fit the AM commercial mode but as they matured their songs took a more independent format as FM radio started to become a thing.

It's fun because Mercedes Benz is well known as a venue of last resort for concerts. Oops. Guess they should have included those acoustic engineers in the design phase.
