Jordan Mason Question

So I read what CPJ said completely different. I took it that grades come out, and as long as his grades meet the standards he will start. I mean is there a NCAA standard but GT has its own standard for guys to start? That doesn’t make much sense to me.
This would be horrible if true, don't think that is the case. Just think about the guys in engineering like brad...yikes.

I agree it’s probably not the case. I just think they had grades coming out and maybe Mason was on the edge last time so they had to make sure he was good.

As a reminder, when starting a new thread that includes a player’s name, you must use at least 5 disqualifying statements.

For example, you could title this thread: “A question about Jordan Ponchez-Mason who has not been arrested, involved with the police, is under no suspicion, is not injured, doesn’t even have a niggle, slept well last night, is pretty happy, and doesn’t own a scooter”

You have been on a roll lately! This is hilarious.

Mason is good on grades. Just talk to him
Dang Coach, you've got to be loving all the praise and promotion Mason is getting in this last week right before we're about to kick it off.

You never know what's going to happen, but, though he seemed a little forgotten throughout last year, you said he was a special kid and believed that would eventually manifest itself.

Ah, good to know. Speed kills. JP Mason certainly isn't slow either, look forward to seeing him break some big runs...

I forgot how impressive JPM looked on tape. That’s the first time I’ve watched it since his commitment. Looks like a faster, quicker Dedrick Mills in the open field. Hopefully he’s just as good up the gut

Great vision at the 2nd level as well. Kids a beast.

Agree. He's the most overlooked of the B-backs, but it sounds like Quon and the line love him. Having 3 capable guys back there is really nice. Hope we can figure out how to get them all some snaps and wear out some opposing defenses.

I'm guessing that he'll play a lot at AB this year. Why keep him on the bench? I think both Benson and Howard would beat him out in the regular season, largely because Howard doesn't look like he has the cutes to play AB.

But we'll know the answer to this soon enough.

I doubt he plays any A back this year. There’s a reason he’s starting over Howard. This is not a hit at any of the guys either, it’s more of a compliment to Mason, but he is the best overall RB on the team. We have some very very good guys in Benson (who is a monster) and Howard. However, this dude is just nasty from almost all aspects of being a RB, and I think everyone will be a little surprised once they see him on Saturday.

Is that why Quade transferred?

Another example to always approach life like you might be next man up. Work hard, go to class, do the right thing. Prepare like you are the starter. JPM went from 3rd string to 1st in a matter of a day. KirVonte did it last year. Jay Jones was QB4 but might have been QB2 right now. You just never know. Tobias Oliver was QB5 and is now QB2. I hope in the first quarter that JPM drops 50+ yards, hit his blocks, and acquits himself well. He has earned it!
