Are we to read that Jones is the #2 QB now since he was the replacement for Marshall late in the game? I know Jordan may be the short yard specialist but Jones was the first in. He must be doing something right in practice.

CPJ is just trying to give all the QBs a chance.... Jone's has something special about him.

I would like to see him in the return game... or a called rocket toss.

No I think if you are going to read anything into it, it would be that he is fourth. He didn't play JSU MJ and LJ did and CPJ said he wanted to get him in that game but couldn't because of time. That is the real disappointing thing about the Pitt game. If not for the fumbles and Punt return, it would have been a blow out and backups could have played most of the fourth quarter

Just curious if anyone has heard anything about JJ progressing and moving up the depth chart?
He looked electric in That one 9 yard run he had towards end of the game, which is kind of weird to say about a 9 yard play. To bad he got his clock cleaned at the end of the run, I'm guessing he may be out some time now.

I wonder if CPJ got him in the game bc he's looking that good in practice and is #2 now and/or does he just want to JJ to not feel too defeated from riding the pine and wants to give him some pt to keep his hopes up and prevent a transfer. Seems like JJ could seriously be a Mike Vick.

TQM has exceeded my expectations and has looked amazing, maybe better than JeT. Pretty cool we actually have some talented depth at QB now. Not sure GT has ever had this much talent at one time at QB. Unfortunately, I'm betting LJ is odd man out and probably transfers at end of this year. San Diego State is ranked in top 25, seems like a logical move for him.

I feel like MJ is in no man's land right now and should move to Aback or Bback. CPJ knows he has something special with JJ and it's more valuable to give JJ the reps over MJ at this point.

No, the pecking order is still...

1) Marshall
2A) Jordan
3A) Johnson
4) Jones

At this point I don't see what benefit we get from MJ getting #2 reps. If we are building for future MJ is odd man out, move him to another position and let the way more talented freshmen develop and get them ready to compete for starting position next year.

In the few snaps I've seen MJ take this year he looked like a spaz out there. LJ and JJ looked more poised and confident. I know it's a small sample size but that's all we got to go on.

I don't think any of us really know. I also don't think he will be out, he was all smiles on the sideline after the hit.

I'm not saying I agree with the pecking order, just that's what it is. I wonder if Jordan is fully healthy. He appears a step slower or something there.

I think CPJ's just keeping Jones and Johnson warm for 2 years from now.

If I had to bet, it'll end up being Johnson, and Jones ends up at A, but I have VERY low confidence in that :)

Are we trending into 2 year starts being a regular thing for QB? (excl Nesbitt, JT). Wouldn't this affect recruiting? After all, CPJ has always said the best kid on the high school team is the QB right?
