Now we have a Freeman - JHD - Gotsis - Gamble 1st string DL that I would put up there with any DL lineup in the country. .

Fify. Eh, I'm a glass half full kinda guy anyway. Like telling my buddy with 18 seconds left not to give up hope, we can still pull this thing out as we sat in private box at Sanford Stadium on the last Saturday of November. But I digress....

This is unbelievably great news. With all the handwringing about A backs, B backs and WRs, having JHD back makes our defense that much more imposing and foreboding and that might allow the offense time to blend in and get our young guys caught up to speed. I'll take winning a few defensive games early as the offense gets settled in. Because once it does - with the defense expected back now - look out.

Our offense must be lights out because it abused our 1string D w/Jabari in the Spring game and that was w/o a bunch of OL's and one hand touch on JT.

It definitely gives us the flexibility to push him out.

I think Gamble is a better SDE than DT and probably our best SDE (besides Gotsis). Now we have a Freeman - JHD - Gotsis - Gamble 1st string DL that I would put up there with any DL lineup in the ACC. On obvious passing downs, we can run a lineup of Freeman-JHD-Gotsis and bring in Tyler Marcordes as a pass rushing specialist at the OLB spot that Roof started to utlize towards the back half of the season. That we can talk about the different combos of guys we can use is a far cry from the past few seasons where we were scraping the bottom of the barrel for bodies on the DL.

Another benefit of JHD being eligible is it's going to give us a DT pool of Gotsis/JHD/Gamble/Kallon that will keep our "pitch count" down and keep them top two fresh. It also takes the pressure away to play the DTs we signed in the spring.

I"m not gonna lie...this news has me SUPER excited for the possibilities against a schedule that's loaded with "name" schools.

I agree, that could be a d line to put up against any d line combo in the acc. Scary thing is if they all play to their potential with kallon and whithead off the bench it could be the best in the NATION. (People please calm down I'm not saying it is going to the best in the nation. I'm just saying with the talent and depth if they all play to their potential it could be a possibility)

You might have to wait on that...Eric had a baby a few days ago so it might be a little while before he's back in the groove. I think you might just want to trust Jabari on this. He has no incentive to lie if he won't be eligible in the end.

(Wishful thinkng with the Falcons pick 32 next year) but on a real note we are getting great news from a potential 1st rounder. Great job Jabari, you didn't take the easy way out and transfer. You made a great decision that shows you are a man of integrity.
