Here’s a bold prediction. This game will either be close or be a blowout.
I know this much… if it’s close, it’s 100% because of us.
Gag needs style points and if they smell blood in the water, they will do all they can to make it UGLY.
There were some sourpusses last year saying Gag played conservative. Didn’t buy it last year and there is NO way that could be true this year.

Agree that uga will try very hard to run up the score. If we can keep it close they might get frustrated and commit a critical error.

When these futures lines get posted, they get taken down when teams are playing an earlier game. Likely since they don’t want to expose themselves in case of something material like a major injury.

I think it’ll drop a couple of points. Overreacting versus appropriatly reacting is a fine line. Umass’s offense success was a pleasant surprise and to a lesser degree, ugag’s starters playing deep into the fourth helps our cause too.

UMass is a very bad team. Arguably much worse than The Citadel, Virginia, UTEP, or Wake Forest. And all those other teams got hammered far worse.

My fear is that uga was taking the day off in case they squeak into the SEC championship.

I don’t know their roster well but it looked like they were physically present. Mentally, who knows? But that applies to much more than this game.

I wouldn’t be surprised at some point in the future for a game like this to look like an NFL week 18 matchup whereby one team plays all backups. But this wasn’t that.

Interesting Article by Mark Bradley. I cherry picked a couple of paragraphs below.

"Tech isn’t ranked – it received one vote, that for the 25th spot, in this week’s Associated Press poll – but it’s a team nobody wants to play. The Jackets are clever. The Jackets will fight you. They’re rotating quarterbacks, which never works, but it worked against Miami and did again Thursday against N.C. State."

"Even in a season that saw a bad loss at Syracuse, a not-great loss at Louisville and King-less drubbings versus Virginia Tech and Notre Dame, Tech has kept the faith. Much of that is due to Brent Key, the alum who became the coach and who has, without offering soliloquies about “branding,” branded this as a rising program in a league where anything seems possible."

It’s been less than 24 hours and I want to enjoy the win, but it’s never too early to start hating the Clarke County School for Drunk Drivers.

Opening as a 20.5 underdog, roughly where Auburn and Kentucky were.

I don't know about this. It depends on which UGA team shows up the one that beat Texas, Tennessee, and Florida or the one that fooled around against Kentucky. They are more than capable of running up the score on us by four TDs or more.

It didn’t budge. Reopened +20.5. No reaction is an underreaction in my opinion. Unlike last year, them getting in the SECCG is a surprise this year, at this point in the season. They play us on six days rest with a bonus game just plopped on their schedule.

6 days doesn’t leave enough room to get in your prerequisite DUIs and a get strongly worded reprimand from the coach. This is cutting it close.

The reason for the spread is UGa‘s offense has come alive! The way Beck is playing suddenly makes it looks like they’ll never punt again. Our offense OTOH struggles with long drives and can’t get to 30 points. (Usually)

Do we gave a chance? Yup. Should we be big underdogs? Yup. It will take a prodigious effort from our defense to keep this close.

I think "prodigious" is a bit of a stretch. Our defense certainly wasn't prodigious last year, but we were still in a position to get the ball back and tie the game if Efford made a tackle he usually makes.

We’ll see… it’s fair to criticize the dwag defense giving up sustained drives to UMass. But complimenting the dwag offense from yesterday?

I concede they looked sharp against Tennessee. My ire there was Tennessee played not to lose and gave up too many easy plays.

If we can rattle Beck early, it should be a fun night Friday night.

Buy the half point to 21 ( to hedge) and take the points. Also, for fun, might want to drop a small wager on the ML for us to win outright. Odds should be long and in case lightning strikes.....

Agree 21 sure is a nice number. I’ve had more success, especially in college, selling points. High standard deviations - something like GT +15.5 for around +200.

I think Tech at least keeps it closer than the spread because GT has so much more to play for. UGA has clinched a spot in the SEC championship game and won't make the playoff it they lose that game regardless of what happens against Tech. On the flip side, even a 3-loss UGA would be in the playoff with a win in the SEC championship.

I don't think they'll do this, but it would make sense if they just roll out their second-teamers against us. Either way, if Tech wins, I guarantee UGA fans will say they weren't trying or something along those lines. THWG!

We haven’t rattled a QB all year. Wouldn’t expect it to start against UGA.
