I think the recent performances from FSU, d'oh U, and Tenn are reasons to think that hanging your hat on recruiting isn't enough.

Imo, recruiting makes the difference between good game-coaches. It doesn't necessarily win games when you don't have good game-coaching.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not pulling the plug. I'm saying, imo, this is a wake-up call to the coaches to evaluate what they're doing. If they take it as a problem with the players, as some here have done, then I think that's misreading the situation.

Now, I have doubts that CDP is the answer at OC, and maybe that will be addressed by getting players that match their system. However, they should really apologize for saying that they're a player-based system and not a scheme-based system if that's the case.

3 years may be needed to determine how good Collins can do, but 3 weeks is more than enough time to determine a starting QB, and folks, LJ just ain't it. Tobias Oliver had the best offensive mind in the stadium today, and we would probably have been a helluva lot better off with letting him call all the plays.
