Appreciate the information from Sir Richard Musterer(I’ve knighted him as GTWBB-HOF Announcer):
Nancy Mulkey(6’9” Rice center)is the daughter of Dolores Bootz who held the GTWBB career scoring record when she graduated.

Thanks for the data and the thrilling broadcasts.
I encourage all of you Tech Hoop Fans or not, to listen on 91. 1 FM!

Yep, I'm a big fan of Sir Richard. He's been doing baseball and women's hoops since the mid eighties. He is an unknown Legend of the Flats! Always produces a quality broadcast. I really like Wiley Ballard but I really miss Sir Richard calling beesball. I also miss Randy Carroll, he was absolutely the best color commentator in college baseball history!

Fantastic post. Sir Richard is the all-time voice of Tech Beesball. His knowledge is incredible with preparation beyond belief. He could never be outworked.

Randy Carroll was great on color, you nailed it. He’s another one who cared enough to study the opponents. I like Wiley as you stated, therefore he would be my runner-up over the years. Wes Durham did a nice job, although for longevity you can’t compare him to R.M.

Bob McCann, I’d like to forget. Al broke Nessler in with MBB. Steve Holman, Dave Cohen, went on to other local gigs.

Totally agree on "Biiiig" Bob McCann. I was not a fan. I will say, he was decent calling baseball, he was our announcer on 680 during our first run to Omaha. Other than that I could do without him. Randy Carroll is Tech baseball. I spoke with him during the regionals last year. He was in his box. Still sharp as ever. Answered every question I had. Great guy.

I’ve been hearing feedback that only 500 fans attend games at GT? WBB, with an insinuation that people don’t care about the game. I don’t recall a Tech BB event under 1k in the last 30 years since leaving O’Keefe Gym. Most of the recent years they have averaged closer to 2k. Another poster that stated only 2 or 3 schools have relevant crowds in WBB, and Duke MBB outdraws Baylor 10-1.

Notice the 5,800 + at Baylor. Duke doesn’t average 58,000 per game. No their budgets are not skewed 10-1 either, although Duke MBB has proceeded revenue close to that because Title 9 can’t compensate for Television/Conference contracts.

Let’s face facts, GT does not do a good job of supporting WBB. Up until the present date, Marketing has done very, very little to help. The AA hasn’t budgeted much either. It doesn’t take much effort to make calls around the metro area. Atlanta(8 counties)is projected to have 12 m. people by 2050.

Went to the game. Fun time and good basketball basics. Sat in front of the 2020 signee from Wesleyan . Nice family! Home Crowd is improving but still a ways to go! It’s a bargain to see some good basketball!

is Virginia top tier as they have been in the past?
Not really, 5-7.
Although they have played at least 3 or 4 top 20 teams, and games have been close excluding UConn(something like 83-44). I remember their Ky., UCLA, contests were tight.

News from Ken:

@ksugiuraajc: Georgia Tech women's basketball RPI now at 24 after 61-51 home win over UVA in ACC opener Sunday. Lorela Cubaj led Jackets with 18/7. tech now 10-2.

NCAA Tournament doesn’t use RPI any longer, but that’s a good sign as we head deeper into ACC play

This looks to have been a fantastic coaching hire. Given the state of the program when she hired in I expected a down year, but she has the team playing so well

This would be a really really good team if the 2 top freshmen from last year hadn't transferred to Louisville . Still good without them and looks like a good hire if she can keep up recruiting. UNC made a good hire and will be better soon. Duke is on the decline. We need to be in the top third of the league.

Funny thing with the two Elizabeth’s, they are not a big factor on Louisville’s veteran team. Not needed in key starting roles, as we played them last season. I think 5 star recruit, Alisha Lewis has played only 28 minutes with ‘Cuse and scored 7 points.

This is a wonderful staff. Nell has a better chance of keeping them together, until the right HC position opens up. I’m hearing she has a temperament that is easy to work with. Extremely passionate, driven, fair and encouraging. Recruiting looks good for the future, if not great. See the thread I started under Basketball(updated yesterday).

Edited-Balogun 24 m. per game, 9.1 points avgd. and Dixon 14 minutes, 5.8 points p.g.
