I guess coach likes it, but the Falcons moved their practices to the morning to escape the punishing heat.

I'm ok with the Falcons moving their practices due to heat. But not CPJ and the Jackets...cause this stuff is for real. Do you think Valdosta or the Bear are moving their practices because of heat? Me either. there's a reason the Falcons don't have rings and the boys down in south Ga. or Tuscaloosa do. Bro', if it were easy easy, we'd all be playing college FB.;)

Here's the recap from RW.com:

Wednesday, August 5 -- Fifth Practice
Let the hitting begin. Georgia Tech had the full pads on for the first time Wednesday afternoon as #GTAMP15 rolled into its fifth day. The Yellow Jackets battled another 96-degree afternoon during a two-hour workout on the Rose Bowl Practice Field. All-ACC junior QB Justin Thomas had a pair of deep connections, hitting Micheal Summers for a 65-yard touchdown during the 7-on-7 period and Isiah Willis for a 52-yard gain in the 11-on-11 period. The defensive line, which returns preseason All-ACC pick Adam Gotsis and freshman All-American KeShun Freeman, has been stout during camp. It's a deep group, and junior Kenderius Whitehead came up with a fumble recovery during the 11-on-11.

Other Notables
• Georgia Tech is set to play one of the toughest schedules in the nation this season. Of Tech's 12 games, nine are against teams that played in a bowl last season. Only four teams - Alabama, Arkansas, Vanderbilt and Virginia - will play more bowl teams from last year (10).

Ok then. I guess there's a LOT of players that need to push through. I think the only one I heard him say something good about was Justin.

I want to say yes. I had the speakers turned up all the way & I believe it was Messick he was referring to.

Yes, that is what I heard:

reporter: "Antonio Messick is one of those big receivers"
CPJ: "hmmm. Yeah, he's big" (looks away)
reporter: "I guess my question is how he at being aggressive"
CPJ: "He's got to get a lot tougher. Mentally tougher"

I will be interested to see if we make it all the way through camp again without a grumpy / displeased CPJ. Last year he seemed to have fewer negative comments about pushing through with effort (none that I recall) than in prior years. And that effort continued to be on display throughout the year.

Repeating in this....very difficult IMO but I'm crossing fingers.

The audio version of CPJ's interview is about three times longer:

Thanks. He is fun to listen to.

re. Skov: "He fell forward." "No Adrian Petterson out there." "He's got a lot to learn." "He'll be alright."

This is a coach who is singularly unimpressed with where the team currently is (except for Justin Thomas -laugh from the press over that one) but feels we have plenty of time to get everyone up to speed. When asked if Messick was soft the coach said, "Naw, he's just got to get tougher. A lot tougher."

Well that's crazy...from all the talk this summer from quite a few board members, Skov is supposed to beast the BB competition and run for 25,000+ yards.

In all seriousness, we'll be okay at BB. Skov just needs to get used to doing more than smashing linebackers without the ball. Now he has to tuck the ball, smash the first defender, and run for daylight. CPJ does seem to single him out in a more critical manner...which means he expects more from Skov than a falling forward.
