GT vs Central Florida Cancelled

Just got word that the game vs CFU has been cancelled due to Hurricane Irma.

ESPN just reported it. Well... 10 win season is our ceiling, huh? At least we get a bye week going into Pitt. Good thing this isn't a conference game.

They could play in Atlanta....

The could play it on a Wednesday night in between two Saturday games as they always seem to set GT games with less days in between to recover as opposed to any other school in the ACC. Perhaps the entire nation.

Maybe this will allow other schools to have a longer Bye week before playing the Yellow Jackets.

Not surprising, considering over 6M people in FL are without power.

Obviously local EMA officials told them it wouldn't really be feasible to play it based on local resources or else they would have kept their best home game.

Kinda great if you ask me. Now we get 2 weeks to rest up for back to back conference home games after playing monday night/saturday. Plus we have a bye after Carolina and Miami shifted to Saturday the 14th.

Not really a big deal IMO. Gives our guys a week off before conference play starts, whereas Pitt plays Oklahoma State this weekend.

Going to be lots of teams with only 11 (UH, UTSA, GT, FSU, Miami) games this season, and a select few with only 10 (UCF, USF?).

Won't hurt us financially, since it's an away game. Actually helps us because we don't have the travel expenses.
