GT vs Central Florida Cancelled

Well damn. This totally pis&&is me off! Planned a whole trip around this game. It will be a full 6 days after any storm activity. Why cancel this game? There is NO safety issue whatsoever.

Just damn.

You don't live there. You have no idea whether there is a safety issue or not. Plus, they can't practice until they get things cleaned up. Augusta is a mess right now, and we weren't anywhere near the actual path of the storm. Orlando is in a helluva lot worse shape than Augusta....A HELLUVA LOT WORSE!!!

Then how can they play a game in Miami on Saturday?

FSU was supposed to play Miami this weekend. That game was postponed until the week before the GT-Miami Thursday night game. Since Miami will play on Thursday and GT would have been open that Saturday, the GT-Miami game was moved to Saturday.

In addition to all the other reasons they cancelled, the UCF stadium is being used as a base for recovery actions this week, as a result of Irma. Too bad they couldn't just relocate the game to Atlanta

I live here. Things aren't bad at all. Bad thunderstorm but we're in great shape. Most of us will be back at work tomorrow.

source close to UCF AD, game was cancelled because it takes 3 full days to get everything together for a saturday game. They wont be able to get back onto campus until wednesday. GT did offer to move game to Atlanta but travel again would not have been able to be addressed until wed so game cancelled. Sucks but feel for the UCF folks as they had no other real option (would you take your team on the road with 1 day of practice)?
