Main thing is to be in top five to advance. More important to advance at this point but winning it would be a nice accomplishment. This team could go really far in the NCAA finals. One of Bruce's deeper teams.
Interesting that UNC is ranked above us even though they didn't make the top four at the ACC tournament. I assume Greaser will play for them in the regionals. Not sure why he didn't play in the ACCT. Maybe injured.

On the Golf Channel crawlers for the Tour U rankings they always show Ross Steelman in top 10 but it seems like Christo Lambrecht has been playing better for most of the season. UNC has I believe three ranked in the top 20 (?)

Golf team doing so so at the opening round of the regional today. As of right now we sit tied for 5th (top 5 move on) but we are only 1 stroke from 3rd. #2 UNC is 5 strokes ahead of us with a couple holes left for today. The guys are playing pretty steady with nobody shooting over par. We just don't have anybody killing it like the teams ahead of us who have a guy shooting -8 or -9.

Update: now in a 3 way tie for 4th as Northern Illinois and Middle Tennessee are coming back down to earth.

That was very interesting. I saw our position fluctuate from 4th to 9th. After the round we sit in 5th alone at 10 under par. All 5 guys under par (Steelman at 4 under, 1 at under, 1 at 2 under and 2 at 1 under). Christo needs a really good day tomorrow; he took a double bogey on a par 5 that put a big hit on his round. He did well to fight back to 2 under for the day.

What hurt us today is our performance the par 5's where we usually excel because of our length. We actually shot -7 on the par 4's as well as the par 5's. We led the field in pars on the day but were middle of the pack on birdies. Looking at the scoring it seems like we were playing safe and not taking chances. It will be interesting to see if we continue that trend in the 2nd round.

Doing much better so far today with the low round so far. Started on the back nine 13 under so far and 23 under for the tournament putting us in 2nd behind Arkansas. Christo back in control with -6 after 9 holes and Howe at -5. Need to keep the foot on the gas though as there are 5 teams with 7 strokes of us.

We are cooking with gas today. Currently in second place at 28 under par - 18 under so far today (through 14)! Christo was 8 under for the day last I looked. We are in solo 2nd and only 5 back of Arkansas.

Wow! Christo shoots a 62 today and Connor comes in at -7. We are low round of the day at -22 with one hole left today. Still only clear of 5th place by like 9 strokes so still work to do tomorrow.

Too bad Howe bogeyed his last hole, but still tied for 6th going into final round. Lamprecht was just crazy good. Christo with a legit shot at the regional individual crown.

14 strokes ahead of #6 team Ga. Southern, so pretty much clinched a finals spot, assuming no total collapse tomorrow.

Top 5 move on, so only need to beat #6 - 14 strokes up on them going into final round.
