I am really more or less neutral on TStan's future but in reality his resume in administration is not that stellar. What has he done elsewhere that is that impressive? He will have a chance to change that in the coming months.

TStan reminds me of Phillip Green, the real estate guy picked by the mob to be their front man at the Tangiers in the movie Casino. He might sign the checks, but the real decisions are made elsewhere.

Auburn, by the way, is the same. AD Allen Greene, is a figurehead. Sure, he administers the department on a day to day basis, but the real decisions? Those are made by 3 men OUTSIDE the Athletic Department .. and all three are the biggest financial donors to the university contributing HUNDREDS of millions to the University.

Like you, TStan for me is a "meh". Had he not attended GT, I can't imagine why we would have hired him. Find the BEST available person and hire him. (Homer Rice, arguably the best AD in the history of the school, was not a Tech alum.)

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Could be worse...he could have been more like Moe Greene the front man for the Corleone mob family in the movie. You know what happened to him.

I'm lovin' this thread. The crow is gonna be flyin' fast n' furious this Fall, boys.

I'm gonna serve us so much breast n' thigh, they gonna call me the black Hugh Hefner.

I'm gonna pass out so much bird, it's gonna look like Thanksgivin' in October up in this b*tch. The mods gonna make me change my name to Hosea Williams.

Who's Hosea Williams? Google me, b*tch!
I am originally from Atlanta so I have more than a passing acquaintance with Hosea and his antics.

Back in the day, not so long ago, UGA had a running back named Crowell who boasted of "...that "Crow" (meaning himself) was going to fly..." So he did, against the likes of Vanderbilt, Kentucky and various other small fry, against Florida, Auburn, and the other bullies...not so much. Talented enough to play in the NFL though. Seems like he did well against us. The Reverend made a big deal about signing him out of high school.

Upon further review, Crowell only played at UGA for one season rushing for 850 yards in 2011. He disappeared after that with the emergence of Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall. I don't know what happened to him but for a brief season that "Crow" really did fly. Kind of a cautionary tale about just how brief an athlete's career can be at the college level.

He got kicked off the team after getting arrested for having a gun with the serial number filed off of it.

Reminds of when a UGA basketball player (Cedric Henderson) went to a party in the athletic dorm and liked his fellow player's stereo so much, he went in through the window and stole it. Got busted when he invited the player in for an adult beverage and bewildered player looked at the stereo, asking ... wtf?

I did not know that. He was a highly recruited running back from Columbus. Perhaps, he has turned himself around or descended into the morass. Georgia, being Georgia, just went out and got two backs that were better and never missed a beat.

No one ever claimed that UGA players were the sharpest knives in the drawer. IIWII Did you ever notice that Tech players (not saying they are angels) seem to get in far less trouble of all kinds while Dwags have an unlimited talent for getting in trouble... legal and otherwise. You would think that being smack dab in the middle of the urban 404 with all its distractions, temptations, and bad characters about that Tech players would be the ones doing most of the stupid stuff.

I think he may have ended up at Jax St-Ala.

I know this is continuing the tangent but this just happened:
and prior to that,

Being clairvoyant does have its uses in regards to the Dwags. "They gonna do...what they are gonna do." As Ron Zook eloquently explained various shenanigans Gator players got involved in during his brief tenure. A way with words that one.

With the state of this team, I could see it go as low as 1. Really. But I think it will be 3 again.
