State attorney seeks arrest of FSU's Dalvin Cook on battery charge http://es.pn/1KV8sdk

He was their leading rusher last year.

Maybe she was asking for it too.

Seriously though, at some point these should stop being viewed as isolated incidents. I realize we at GT aren't all saints, but incident after incident at FSU involving not only violence against women but multiple team members being involved as witnesses/not-so-innocent bystanders is a problem.

Why didn't they drag the guy away before the conflict escalated?

Women and men need to be held to as similar as possible legal standards. I have no idea what lead her to try to knee him and swing. That's what the courts are for. I "blame" both for being stupid. I've been stupid too so there is empathy in that statement.

And I agree that our players don't have as many problems. We can speculate as to why, but they don't. Yes every team has players who get in trouble; but FSU does lead the way for the ACC. At some point I'll have to see how they rank on the Fulmer Cup scale ..... they do seem to be close to SEC caliber.

I hope the woman is also charged with assault. She started it and threw a punch and worse tried to knee him in the groin. To not charge her is sexual discrimination. :sneaky: Women need to be held responsible for their actions too.

But for the FSU player, people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw punches. If he wasn't a Scholarship Athlete, I doubt there would be charges for anyone. But he is and there are. After Winston, there is no choice but to charge him. And throw him off the team.
Disgree.

Not that anyone cares but I'm gonna add my 2 cents on the qb case. I looked at the whole video, not just the gif. Looks like they were both after the same bar stool. It's impossible to tell which was in line for it first. She clearly slid in first however. A gentleman would have conceded the seat and moved on. He is obviously not one. He then proceeds to initiate the physical altercation and physical contact by pushing his body into her and pushing her into the bar. He puts an elbow into her back also while pushing into her. He also grabs a hold of the bar for extra leverage as he basically pushes / pulls his way to the bar and into / past her.

She hasn't initiated any physical contact to this point. Then she turns to face him and words are obviously exchanged. She has a fist raised but doesn't appear to be making any physical contact. He then grabs her by the arm...additional physical contact initiated by him again. It looks like she tries to pull away and they continue to struggle and exchange words.

At this point she then attempts to knee him and throws her punch. A jury will decide but in my opinion that punch was in self defense following all the other physical contact initiated by him ,which in many states would be either a misdemeanor simple battery or disorderly conduct. The punch he hit her with, involving visible injury, would be a higher degree misdemeanor battery.

He was the primary instigator from the get go IMO, more at fault, and rightfully charged. Both could and should have acted with more constraint and maturity. That I concede.

Having said all that....I disagree with those who feel a woman should NEVER be struck by a man under ANY circumstance. There are appropriate circumstances when it is warranted. Yall may never have seen an enraged woman assault a man but I've seen it more than once. They can be far more formidable than many of you seem to believe. Eyes scratched out and permanent disability is a real possibility and has occurred. Not to mention women who commit acts of assault while armed with deadly weapons. That happens too folks. Gal pulls a knife or gun on me.....she will be lucky if all she gets is knocked out.
