I been talking about and looking for the fake rocket toss BBack/QB Run. The first play was a thing of beauty. I was hoping to see the same play to start the second series.
If it's the play I'm thinking of, the defender was off from the start and backpedelled at the snap. It's hard to get him to bite on a stop and go if he's that far off from the get go.I saw one today I'd been looking for, but it didn't work. Since the come back route is our bread and butter, why not fake it and see if we can run by the defender? The receiver stuttered, Justin pump faked, but the defender had his back turned and never took the fake. I liked your better.

That was a different game. Zenon did it, too, but Laskey did it against UVA (I'm like 95% sure)Thought it was Zenon
CPJ is one of the best in the business as an OC.
I couldn't agree more. I was also thinking how him as an OC also frees us up to have another coach helping with another group. It is a dual effect that I really hadn't thought of.
found it, 2012 http://www.espn.com/college-football/boxscore?gameId=322590059
Literally the same play

The Zenon play was the first play of the game at Middle Tennessee. That was a different game. Zenon did it, too, but Laskey did it against UVA (I'm like 95% sure)
The problem is you don't throw a fade into double coverage, especially if you're going to leave it short. That should be a throw only Jalen can get to, or no one can get to it. The decision making slip is part of being a back-up with limited game experience. A more seasoned QB goes elsewhere or throws that one away.I called the fade to Jalen...didn't work out to well lol
Hindsights 20/20 but man was Tevin a good player for us. The defense during his years was downright attrocious.
I was, and will forever be, team Tevin. He was a late add and never was expected to see the field. He became the starter through sheer force of will and work ethic. I'm glad we have him as a grad assistant and hope he instills that mentality of players to come. Some of us were saying it at the time, but the TeamVad fanboys wouldn't hear it.
