Lots of life lessons here for everyone reading. Calmness, empathy, humility. And not wearing tank tops with jorts and cowboy boots. . And no mask. Click through to the thread to see a video of the interaction.
Exactly this. We don't know how it started and at the beginning of the video, the woman was cussing him out. Everybody was wrong in this situation imo. There is no excuse for how Charlie acted and he should be punished and have to personally apologize to those women. However, nobody needs to know the punishment that he receives except for Charlie, the coaching staff, and GT administration.Let’s not rush to judgement. Yes that section of video was not becoming nor his best moment, but we don’t know the whole situation and you see only what was posted and not what led up to it.
My family has been victim of parking lot “accident” scams twice.
Agree that whoever was with him should have helped and gotten him calm and in the car and off camera.
Nobody is perfect is correct. And children need to learn that ONE mistake can cost you almost everything. Hard lesson to learn but completely necessary. He should lose any scholarship he has, and removed from the team for one season. He is welcome to transfer or sit. But shouldn't be around the team for a year. Don't let *****s like this brush stuff under the rug and a slap on the wrist. This kid is most likely privileged knowing the high school he came from. Don't let mommy and daddy work his way out of this. I take ZERO tolerance to kids acting like brats. It usually transfers to a$$hole adults. They had a Bernie sticker on their car, and Bernie is a socialist, so referring to them as socialists is probably a good guess. But it doesn't matter if it was a Bernie sticker or a Baskin Robbins sticker and he cursed at them for being ice cream eaters, his behavior and disposition was obnoxious. Georgia Tech would do well to be more transparent and make it public if he has been suspended from the team for awhile (which to me would be a reasonable starting point). If I were coach Hall, I wouldn't want to be associated to someone acting like this. I can't tell if Benson reached out to them directly to apologize face to face - an electronic message posted somewhere doesn't really amount to much. Nobody is perfect, but its what you do after you've made a mistake that's equally as important.

I appreciate the not rush to judgement but when you have a 5'11 man jump out and accost you in a drive through line in late at night, I would be a little agitated. I agree we didn't see what happened prior to this but in your comment - trying not to make an assumption - you say we don't know what happened before. Exactly, GT players hit the car and she got out, perhaps threw up her hands in frustration, maybe said something about paying attention and then Benson jumped out of the car and all hell broke loose. The problem here is that the players should have been the ones managing the situation and being well aware of how their actions reflected on themselves and their team.Let’s not rush to judgement. Agree he should have to personally apologize to the women and GT baseball leadership should as well. From what I hear there is no punishment, he apologized to the team in a group meeting, GT wrote an apology and posted it on social media From what I read somewhere the apology wasn't sent to the women but just posted online.Exactly this. Could not agree more with this. For someone to react this way and to this level of reaction, definitely doesn't deserve to be on the team. Someone said he should be off the team for a year or go play elsewhere for a year - juco and come back the next year. His apology was to save face with the baseball team. This kid is toxic. No need for him on the team. I have written Danny Hall and Stansbury asking for his removal from the team and loss of scholarship. Unacceptable behavior. He is an adult even though we view them as kids.
Right. No matter how another party reacts you must ALWAYS remain composed. He lost it. He has no control over his anger. Wouldn't of been good if he reacted that way and the other person had a gun. We would now be talking about a possible death. Just another entitled angry white kid. And yes, I am white. I grew up with kids like this. I was friends with kids like this. I am no longer because they are toxic people. If she "started" the argument or raised voices then we obviously know this kid has NEVER held a customer service job. You politely offer to give insurance, and apologize whole heartedly. But it sounded like him and his buddy hit her and were trying to say there was no dent or scratch. By his actions and anger id also be led to believe he had be drinking where the driver probably had been too. Men ages 18-22 make dumb decisions. I made my fair share. Especially in college. All in all this kid needs a wakeup call and stop with the coddling BS. No slaps on the wrist. Take away stuff he cares about to show repercussions for his dumb actions.Yep. Lets imagine for a second an alternative universe. One where they barely tap the car in front and the young ladies get out to see what happened to their car. Charlie Benson and the driver get out, are super apologetic and nice. They smile, say sorry again but wow are they lucky there's no scratches or damage. Then the lady gets back in the car and posts "wow, just ran into a Georgia Tech baseball player - he was the most well mannered, nicest person I've met in a long time!"
