He said essentially the same thing about every player he was asked about not sure there’s much to read into. “So proud of him, great young man, great family, absolutely works his tail off, going to have a great year”
Sounds a little like old Bear Bryant( for the older fans on here) " proud of him works hard fine family from little butt Alabama I know most the people from little butt Alabama".

This Q&A is not for us, it's for the writers in the room. They all hear the questions. It's only been recently that video has been recorded. So, the little things done for the video audience, like mic the questions, is an afterthought. It's unfortunate.
These interviews are normally posted from the GT Athletics Youtube page, so I wouldn't think it would be that hard for someone to add subtitles for the questions that are asked.

Well it is a good problem to have. You can never have too many running backs. It's like pitching in baseball. We will lose 1 or 2 along the way to injury and a couple will feel like they need to transfer out to find more playing time. But we should be able to find 2 or 3 guys that can legitimately run the rock. I think the way of the world now in college football is to find as many as you can, conduct tryouts and weed through the group until you find the best 2 or 3 at each position. Look for a lot of churn in the roster each year going forward. A lot more than what Georgia Tech football fans have been used to in the past.

Go Jackets!

Getting attention from AP: @AP_Top25: Georgia Tech's football team took in an Atlanta United game as part of new coach Geoff Collins’ efforts to make the Yellow Jackets a vibrant part of the city's sports culture.

That’s national coverage, folks, and a positive story

Genuine question here, because I'm curious.

Anyone know the logistics of setting something like this up to be within the NCAA rules as a permissible benefit? CGC also mentioned taking the seniors to a Falcons game this season. I thought anything not available to the general student body, except like training table meals, tutoring, and a full scholarship, was a no-no? Like giving a kid $20 to get dinner is an impermissible benefit, but you can buy them ~($300) tickets to a Falcons game? How does that work? (Or did the team have to "buy their own tickets?")

From what I gather, GT can take the SAs to the game, but they would have to pay for their own tix. Whether the tix were at a "friendly" rate, who knows. I do know that game was sold out (70K+...yes, for an MLS soccer game...and it set records). ATLU tix are usually sold out, so GT must have pulled some strings to get that many tickets in the same area.

What are the predictions here of the RB depth chart? Obviously we won't know for certain, and Tashard gave nothing away and probably doesn't even know himself yet. But who do y'all think will be the top 2 guys starting out against Clemson?

Griffin was a popular choice back in the spring, but that's a tall ask for a freshman that's only been on campus a short time.

I'm going to take a stab and say Malloy and Howard.

Activities like this during fall camp are called "enrichment activities" or something like that and they're paid for by Georgia Tech's football budget. They're permissible by the NCAA, I'm assuming up to a certain number of events.

The team can take outings, like doing a recruiting dinner, going to the movies or something fun during camp, and probably something during the season counts the same as that as well.

Since you no longer have email, and there's apparently no way to include an attachment in a private message on TheSwarm, I thought you, and probably everybody else, would get a kick out of this, in light of the various quips you make about your wife .

I'm betting Mason and Malloy with Howard and Smith appearing regularly. Mason and Howard are the prototypical shotgun backs in terms of size and speed, but Malloy is so fast and runs so hard that I believe he'll be the first off the bench. Or Smith.

I think it'll depend on who is doing well in the games. We're just fooling around right now.

What's the guess on Jameous, RS or not this year, I'm guessing he plays this year more than 4 games.
Stinger, dont forget about the new redshirt rule. SA's can play a maximum of 4 games and still keep their RS. Unless he is the next Adrian Petersen, I expect him to get some mop up duty in games where we have built up a substantial lead, if we even get to that point, but at this point who really knows.... I'd guess 70/30 he keeps his RS.

Ordinary I don’t think you RS a guy with his ability. However, in this instance I think we might due to the number of capable guys there.

There's a decent chance the 3 true freshman our 3 most talented backs (not including Smith in this as I really haven't seen enough of him to have an opinion). Howard, Mason, and Malloy are all solid, but I don't think any of them is a real difference maker.
For game 1...I really don't know. Depends on ability to pick up the playbook, block, and catch. I do think Griffin is starting by mid-season.
