Very good. Thanks.
Yep. Probably fair to say Bartnicki & Maxwell struggling with control today.Like that we are going to see a lot of pitchers.
Hughes and Roedig looked good statistically. Bartnicki gave up 2 in 1.2 IP.
To jinx things, nice to see no errors either side. We handled 4 GO and they handled 5.
Score 2-2.......
Both Barnicki and Maxwell have had wild pitches. Maxwell I kind of maybe understand.
Update: another Maxwell wild pitch puts in a go ahead run for USCe. Not good. But good time to have pressure put on. Without watching, hard to tell how wild the pitches were; Turley catching. And we've had great catchers recently (understatement).

Typically, we don't unpack the bats till late February. In 5th, Maxwell
Maxwell just stuck out the side while walking two in the fifth. Best SO was second hitter who he got down 3-0 and came back.
But yeah, control is an issue. Would have loved to see him actually pitch though.
Update: And our side got struck out in the 6th. Beginning to look like our low Gold-White scoring may have been due to lack of hitting as well as great pitching.
The weighted balls JR is referring to are really know as “plyometric balls.” Which just means they’re used before and after throwing baseballs to help warm up the muscles involved in the throw. You don’t actually “throw” these weighted balls in the sense you would throw a baseball. But you use them to do exercises to mimic body movements throughout the throw.Really? Throwing a heavier ball leads to fewer injuries? Limit reps on weighted ball?
Good stuff. They’re pretty polarizing in baseball. A lot of the training facilities and companies that prospects and college players work with use them, like Driveline, and Cressey Sports. Tech actually had a Cressey guy on staff last year in Christian Wonders, but he has since taken a job with the Padres. It’s really a new school vs. old school thing. There’s solid evidence that using plyo balls increases throwing velocity, and at least has a subconscious effect of making the arm feel better, but there’s also solid evidence that throwing harder increases the chance of injury. It’s very risk vs. reward, but there’s never really been anything that shows using weighted balls specifically causes injury. Just the effect of throwing harder might.
Sorry if this was long. Just trying to get a lot of info out there for those who may not be brought up to speed with some of the newest training methods.
Yesterday... they announced a time change.Todays 2PM game verus Samford - stats at http://www.statbroadcast.com/events/statmonitr.php?gid=geot Hope it isn't password protected.
As expected, not on ACCNetwork or ACCNx that I see. Doubt it will be on IMG either or WREK but if it is let us know.....
Hope Bartnicki and Maxwell have better innings today and the bats come out. We only made one error in 12 innings v USCe so that was good.
