OK
Who watches the game like that over wings and brews at a sports bar? Like I said we're fans. We won. Great game.
There is a perception problem with our offense. I cannot argue with that. However, you are holding this team to an impossibly high standard. When have casual sports fans ever cared much about Georgia Tech football, except in those few years when we are winning big and/or are playing a highly ranked opponent? Last night had neither of those.
Last night, we were a non-ranked team playing against a non-ranked Miami team. If you can honestly tell me that your same buddies would have been excited to watch Georgia Tech play a game against a non-ranked team when Gailey was the coach, then maybe there is something to your rant. However, I am pretty sure the honest answer is that casual fans who didnt like seeing Tech beat Miami last night, wouldn't care about watching Tech against any non-ranked opponent with a different offense. You think your friends would have watched the 6-9 Tech-WF ACC Championship game and said, "man, I don't care about Tech, but that was just a fun game to watch!"
We were highly respected nationally when we won big in 2009, and will be again if we can keep winning. That is the bottom line. If we win, people will watch as much as they ever have. Otherwise, Tech is generally just not a big "casual fan" draw when playing a game against an unranked team, no matter the offense.
