Oh for God's sake people. Turn on the DVR. (sorry for the emotion) There is little doubt that we don't have to read coverages the same way as NFL receivers do. Do you see where the safeties line up against us? Do you see where their first steps are as defenders? This is not a condemnation of our offense, but rather a flattering compliment. Any scheme that forces the defense to take away from the coverage downfield in the mere hopes of being able to slow down, not stop, mind you, but slow down, the run game, is a darned good one. Yes, Waller has to learn some new stuff at that level. So what!? If there is one thing our offense shows off about our receivers is their ability to destroy "one on one" coverage, win deep balls, and block like a banshee. Those skills are coveted at the next level too.
Our goal is to win COLLEGE football games, not........
Give me safeties lined up 8 yards off the LOS and jab stepping in every snap all day. I will torch that crap over the top when it matters. End of rant.
