In terms of passing, especially in the face of the all out blitz, the only thing I think we really need is for the BB, who is in pass pro, to turn and release after the rushers get past him and look for the ball. We have had 6 or 7 rushers with, at least, one spy on JT on pretty much every pass play. The ABs and WRs are out with single coverage. By my math (and by watching film) there is nobody left. Just dump it off as a safety valve and watch the BB run with the ball 15 yards until a DB gets near him.
ooo I like that

I also like the thought of this. I don't think many DB's would want to make repeated tackles on Mr. Skov. In our last two games, the DB's didn't have to make any tackles.

Isn't this the play we ran with Dwyer that basically won us the Gardner Webb game? Or am I not remembering correctly? I would definitely like to see us use it more frequently except I would rather Marshall be the one to catch the pass. While I would enjoy watching Skov punish a db 15 yards downfield, I'd much prefer to watch Marshall make a guy miss and take it for 6.

I'm tired of hearing pessimism is realism. I'm not upset. I am disappointed, because we DID have the ability to be great this season. Coach told us as much when highlighting the mistakes the team made in both of our losses so far. I'm not yelling and screaming about it. And I don't think many of the other positive thinking fans are either.
Yeah, but then you don't get to be smug and say, "I told you so."

Yep. It's called a screen pass. And EVERY team in college football runs it to punish overly aggressive defenses. Why we don't, don't ask me. You could ask CPJ and get a smug remark though.

We don't even need to run a "screen play" where it is called and OLs let the rushers through and then play escort. We just need a BB who blocks for a second and then releases after his rushers pass. Our BBs tend to block and then chase the rushers back towards the QB. Just turn around and give the QB a place to go with the ball once half (or more) of the defense is in the back field.

What are you talking about? We ran a screen in week one and it wasn't open and JT ran around an lost about 15 more yards than he should have. Now if you are saying we don't run a lot of screens then fine but we do run screens.

In 65 and maybe 68, uga used the fake FB dive , then fake flat pass, pass to FB over middle to makes big plays to help them stifle our agressive defense. Can't wait to see that play with a ga tech bb!
