There’s no point in responding to this miserable person any more. He’s like the guy that would point out that Cindy Crawford has one weird toenail and harp on that.
Ah yes, pointing out issues means you’re miserable.

The US is well beyond the point of balancing its federal budget or paying back its debt so what difference does it make?
Lord Keynes was right: "If we can do it, we can afford it." Only works in countries that have their own currency, of course.

The story he was referencing was true.

" In her statements to news organizations, Dr. Appleby said the man had told his nurse that he attended a Covid party. Just before he died, she said the patient told his nurse: “I think I made a mistake. I thought this was a hoax, but it’s not.” "

Lmao No it’s not. Come on bruh. But I’m dead serious about the serial killer with the hook, it’s as true as this bs story you’re reading.

I mean, there is a link to the story from a reputable source, but you say it's not true...

Who to believe?

Lol common sense folk or the NYTimes? Just listen to the details of the story, the absurdity of the entire concoction and you believe that? You’re a college educated individual I’m assuming?

So I’m actually getting over this dang thing right now. Symptoms started 6 days ago. Day 1 was a very mild cough, day 2 felt like the worst hangover of my life. Got swab tested then and got a positive result 3 days later. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I didn’t run a fever until day 5. I know all cases are different but a temperature check wouldn’t have done me any good. Days 3 & 4, I felt fine and if I wasn’t awaiting test results would have been tempted to leave the house and conduct business as usual.

I’m a pretty healthy 33 yr old and the last couple of days have been awful. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone and I hope the NCAA and ACC takes it serious.

Hope you get better soon and have a full recovery. I recommend zinc and vitamin D and a Z-pack. If you have breathing difficulties, then I’d recommend a breathing treatment with a steroid.

You had a bad cold, corona, and now you’re completely better with no issues whatsoever (I’ve never known a cold or flu to be pleasant). Got it. Everyone take cover.

So much for the "kids don't transmit the virus" meme. See:

https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/26/10/20-1315_article

And with 58K+ respondents, the test results are almost certain to be reliable.

A sick anybody, much less a teenager, indoors 24 hours a day at home with their family would likely infect them. I wouldn’t doubt that. My conclusion would be that regardless of age, if you live with someone who has it, you are highly likely to get it. Especially if kids are around, who are much less likely to wash hands frequently, wear a mask at all times, and practice good hygiene.

Did I ever say America was a despicable? No. Compared to most of the world America is a great place to live. Compared to most of the developed world, it’s pretty average to above average. America is exceptional at many things, but’s it’s also embarrassingly low in many other categories that European and some Asian countries excel at. Those lists include public education, healthcare, incarceration, literacy rate, infant mortality rate, life expectancy, environmental friendliness, obesity, trust in media, work week length, etc. Many people completely ignore the problems America has simply because of the market power that is available here. There’s plenty good reasons for adults with no school aged children to move to America, even from Nordic countries. As it stands now though, America simply isn’t the best country to spend your entire life, especially someone who is lower-middle-class and below.
You are welcome to emigrate anytime you want. W don't close those doors. Of course all those countries you believe are better than us actually have immigration laws, and they, um, actually ENFORCE them, so you may be be ABLE to go live there permanently if you don't have a job (sponsored by a local company) or a TON of money or are native from one fo their former colonies (guilt). Otherwise, you may be stuck here. Sowwy about dat!

One thing you might learn if you actually go live and work overseas (as I have is that (1) many other countries count differently than we do, so ratings across countries are often somewhat made up; and (2) the social safety net comes at a cost in personal freedoms (not to mention exorbitant taxes). IMHO, people should be free ot move where they want to live, and so far, that remains with the US as #1 in the world based on immigration/emigration data. You may have your opinion, but it isn't shared by the majority of other people on the planet:

No other country views themselves as highly as Americans do. You can point out your flaws and learn from the lessons of others. Simply claiming you’re the best doesn’t make it true.
It is of course all a matter of opinion, but I for one would argue that very, VERY few ocntry's can match what we have accomplished in the last century. Those European countries needed us to bail their butts out in WW2 for starters after they totally miscalculated the political and economic situation in their neighbor states. Only Russia has a solid leg to stand on equal ground with us in that debate. Then there has been the economic growth in this country that has dwarfed everyplace else. While we have some flaws, they are chosen flaws, places where the trade-offs are ones we have deliberately rejected.

Sorry it annoys you so much to admit that we are the best when, you know, facts show that we are.....#Facts

Yes. And if you don't like the NYT, there are multiple sources. I don't have a political point to prove, so when the same story gets reported across a multitude of sites, I am pretty sure it's reliable.

According to U.S. News and World Report, The United States currently ranks 7th overall in the world.
Oh, you're hanging your hat on a US News and World Report article. Well, why didn't you say so.That makes it all so believable. NOT.

I am beginning to wonder if you have actually live overseas to make the comparison. It's pretty clear once you do so. People not only emigrate to the US in droves, they come here for health care, education, investment, and vacation...in droves.

It could be the Post for all we care. Listen to the details to that story, in 2020, and ask yourself if you really believe that. Lol the news is reporting it nobody is gonna dispute that. This isn’t even one of those ignorant “that’s fake news because I don’t agree with it” rants, this is just common sense.
This fabricated story is set up on a tee with sweet, unrealistic deets and you’re buying it.
You’re smarter than that I’m assuming.
If you believe it go ahead, I can’t change some of your minds lol.

Germany’s net migration in 2017 was about 400k, about 1/7th of the number you cited. To have nearly 3 million people invade a country of about 80 million every year would be quite an undertaking. People come here & stay here unless their visa expires or is rescinded. Not so much every place else.

Basically you just don't believe anything that doesn't fit your narrative.
The news sources aren't there to inform you, they're there to prop up your own pre-conceived notions.
You believe what you want to believe and disregard the rest.
