*sigh* It wasn't a one off. But go ahead, continue being defensive about criticism of the administration.

I don't expect any administration to "quickly fix" a problem like this. But the President of the United States should do better.

I agree with everything you just said. No administration will be or should be above criticism.

my complaint was that for the last two months, there have been numerous congressional hearings, White House to Congress briefings, press conferences, and so on. Nobody pre-forecasted these sorts of problems Or complained that they weren’t getting enough resources or help. People are doing the best they can to identify and manage the issues as they’ve come up. To lay these sorts of problems at one person‘s feet seems completely unreasonable. Yet predictable.

I think he can be fairly criticized for minimizing the extent of the threat the virus posed.

I would disagree with that too. From the very beginning I have heard nothing but extreme caution from all of the health professionals in the administration. In fact, I have heard more complaints that they have overhyped the problem.

What more could he have done?

I pay very little attention to him, or to the Democrats. I try to pay attention only to the actual facts instead of spin.

I haven't paid any attention to his comments about this virus, but in general: He should stop using Twitter for small zinger type statements. If statements he made were more diplomatic and less like desperate housewives shows, people would probably pay more attention to him.

"Wash your hands and don't touch your face." instead of "CONTAINED!!!!!!" (Not trying to say he tweeted "contained", that is just similar to the way he communicates.)

If he didn't tweet, the American people would not know what he has to say, because the MSM won't tell you.

You can tweet without intentionally attempting to goad people.

EDIT: And I am not trying to be political. I am just pointing out that if someone sounds like an elementary school kid, people pay less attention to them. His tweets, whether I agree with his sentiment or not, are usually more like kids arguing than Presidential.

I didn't say health professionals in the administration. I meant him personally.

He only repeated what he had been told by "experts". Hell, I had to see a vascular specialist last week, and he, as a doctor, said it was being blown out of proportion.

Why wasn't he listening to the health professionals in the administration who were advising extreme caution?

I mean I don’t know what to tell you. He has listened to them, and they’ve been on every talk show for weeks. He shut down travel from China. Then Italy. Now Europe. He’s met with insurance companies to waive copays. He’s killing regulations to try to break the logjam for testing. Did you listen to his Oval Office speeches? How can he be criticized for downplaying it while also be criticized for overhyping it? That tells me people just hate his guts. Which is fine, I think he’s an imbecile Too. But I think it’s totally nonsensical what people are blaming him for.

Early on, I doubt there were any in the administration who advised that. Even my own vascular specialist told me last week that he thought it had been blown totally out of proportion. How is anyone supposed to know which people to believe or trust. At least Trump did impose the travel ban from China, and yet the DIMs and the MSM called him racist for doing so.

I don't tweet, so I only know what I have heard he tweeted, and frankly I find most of them hilarious and generally spot on.

Dude, he called it a hoax. When 15 people were infected in the US, he said that in a couple of days it would be down to zero. He wanted to keep infected people on a cruise ship because "I don’t need to have the numbers double because of one ship that wasn’t our fault."

He said “So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!”

And let's not forget

You probably need a new vascular specialist.

When compared to most other countries thus far, we have had a very poor response.

I just heard on the radio a few moments ago that S. Korea is testing 10,000 people A DAY, which is more than we have done TOTAL.

False, he said the way Democrats were portraying it was a hoax. If you think he said the virus was a hoax, LOLOLOL. Also, see the date on that tweet? That was when it was under control. LOLOLOL. The delusional hate for this imbecile is even more silly than Trump himself is.

So what. Running a test does not stop or slow down the disease. If people think they are at risk and they don’t Quarantine themselves, which is the same thing they would do if they got a positive test, that is their own damn fault. We have been telling people to self Quarantine for months now under those circumstances. Remember the very first people that came over, the ones that were originally in China or on a cruise ship? We gave them a military enforced Quarantine. The main things that we could’ve done differently they would’ve had a material impact would’ve been to shut down all international travel and enforce quarantines by military or police force. Neither one of those things as practical.

He did NOT call it a hoax. He called the media and DIMs' efforts to politicize it a hoax. Quit watching CNN and get the REAL news.
