Absolutely. This is the biggest media fugazi we have ever witnessed. I’m in my 30s so I’m not one of those old people conspiracist people; this is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen but I’m actually loving to see all the media hysteria and the idiots that are panicking because of it. The people that are dying are very old who would die if they got a cold because they’re already unhealthy. This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen i our economy and the 1% is about to make so much money off the idiots that they can crawl into their hole and never be heard from again.
My opinion: a lot of us will get this virus. It’s a cold weather virus similar to a cold/flu but not cold/flu. Any of us here may even get it, likely, but it’s not gonna effect our life. The old people and diseased people who’s immune system is torn down are the ONLY people who are dying. Middle aged healthy people are contracting this virus and it’s not even effecting their day to day more than a cold.

I love the hysteria though. I’m making money off this and I hope you guys are as well. My portfolio in the past week is friggin NUTS in a good way.

ROME — The number of people in Italy cured of COVID-19 passed the 1,000-mark on Tuesday evening as the country ended its first day of lockdown.

The latest data reported by Italian business newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore show that 8,514 people are currently infected with coronavirus in Italy, while 631 have died from the disease and 1,004 who were infected have since recovered. Some 10,149 are reported to have been infected in the country in all.

On Tuesday, the number of current cases of contagion in Italy grew by only 529, as opposed to the growth of 1,598 cases on Monday, the largest decrease since officials began monitoring the disease.

Among other encouraging news, there has not been a single case of the virus among children in Italy, with no one under the age of 18 coming down with COVID-19.

The average age of people affected by coronavirus in Italy is 69 years, with only 10 percent of cases affecting those between the ages of 20 and 50, Italian health services (ISS) reported.

According to reports from Johns Hopkins University, there have been fewer than 5,000 deaths worldwide (4,284) from COVID-19, and 65,776 who have recovered from the virus.

On Wednesday, Italy entered its second day of lockdown and police have set up checkpoints to stop drivers who venture out on the roads. Minimal travel is permitted but only for reasons that the government judges necessary. Supermarkets are open but lines have formed outside since only a limited number of clients are allowed to enter at any given time.

I originally thought it was well within the realm of possibility that China developed COVID-19 as a bioterror weapon as a low impact way of sending a message to US, Europe, etc. Then in typical communist fashion, they f’d up and inadvertently attacked themselves. I didn’t consider that they could possibly be doing own nation population control. Sounds crazy, but figuring out a way to cull their herd sure solves a crap ton of economic issues they have with their aging population.

As usual, the people on this site are infinitely more knowledgeable and level headed (not me, other people) than the news media. The more that real information can be shared around the better.

I'm 75 years old, and I am not panicking in the least. Unless it is cancelled by the tour company (which is still a possibility), I am going to Italy, Sicily, and Germany in June/July. Until then, I'm just going to sit back and laugh along with you at the hysteria reaped by the politicians and the media. Unfortunately, I am on a fixed income, and I can't take advantage of the bear market and make money, but I can certainly wait it out till all my IRAs recover, which they will.

I've stayed in my apartment, working from home all week, but ventured out to grab dinner tonight.

Took the A-Train 1 stop to get Taco Bell.

Well, life’s going to be interesting tomorrow. We’ll be in full panic mode between the NBA and NCAA.

Eit: Oops left off no Europe travel.
