The rollover doesn't mean anything. It's more symbolic than anything. The important thing is the buyout. Here is what I found on that.

Even if that was a full two years of salary for about 11mil, that really isn't that big a deal to a place like Kansas for a coach like Self. That's barely more than what Indiana paid Archie Miller to go away. Yes, it's a lot of money. Self is also one of the most accomplished coaches in the game, still fairly young (58) when compared to many of the elite coaches, and has been about as consistent as you could possibly be there.

That's where Jim Phillips lives and where my kids go to school. Depending on where in Wilmette, walking distance to the NW coliseum or about 4 miles from the LUC campus.

If he doesn’t have his agent start up a side conversation with UNC before he signs the contract, he’s a fool. At the very least, he’s got an insane amount of leverage with any contract right now, until he actually signs.

OU is a deceptively good program without the intense media pressure to perform. They have several Final Fours and NCAAT appearances but have never sealed the deal. You can basically go there and do your thing while Lincoln Riley takes up all the space.
