Arizona might be looking at a multi-year postseason ban if this holds:
No. I think they consider Josh Pastner because he's revered in Tucson, given his connection to Lute. The past couple of years of reasonable success may be the clincher though. So, if Arizona decides to fire Coach Miller for cause, does anyone think they might go after the flavor of the month (named Josh Pastner)?
Clean-as-a-whistle reputation, has now proven he can coach, recruiting looks like it is ticking up (in the face of some strong headwinds for the program) and with his success this year...and if he makes a post-season run.....well, how knows?

if that happens (and I don't think it will) you simply say thank you for getting us back to where we ought to be and move on from the higher baseline he left
I agree with you. I think a good possible way to look at this is, what would it cost right now to lose him? We have a good cultural fit, a rising program, a slowly but surely increasing talent level, clearly a good coaching nucleus who are good coaches, I would think some loyalty for some of the previous issues with poor judgement on his part. I am very excited where we are going with this programWho knows. My guess is he would be on their list but down it a little bit. I kind of wonder would Pastner want to step into that situation though,
Depends on what it would take to keep him and what we could afford to make a bit at another coach. But I certainly don't want to go into the process looking for a budget hire when we look like we have some momentum building in the program.
Don't want to start another thread, but what are the chance some of our coaches get poached this offseason? Eric Reveno mostly, given his work with Lammers/Banks/Moses and his high profile work with student athletes this offseason. There's a small groundswell for Portland hiring him back as HC. I don't think he leaves GT for another assistant position, but a HC job could be attractive. I believe he just recently signed an extension with a title promotion as well.
You also have to think the offensive improvement of our team and players would have other HCs looking at Anthony Wilkins.
I think GT is on the verge of a special run of years where recruiting and on the court results finally align, but staff continuity or finding the right replacements are key.
I agree. I believe Hewitt's downfall was being unable to replace his assistant coaches (who left after the Final Four run) with equal quality.Don't want to start another thread, but what are the chance some of our coaches get poached this offseason? Fire him? They're probably dancing this year.I think Brownell is a solid coach but puts clemson in a kinda werid spot. He's a pretty good coach but I don't think he can really elevate Clemson beyond where it is at. However, if you fire him there is a good chance that you downgrade or side grade and just pay for not an improvement. Him taking another gig might be the best thing for Clemson.
This is page 12 of this thread, in early March. On pages 7 and 8, in mid February, people were speculating whether Pastner would be retained. Coaching conversations are just amazing.

LazyAD will probably tack on a 5yr extension and torture the 6 Clemson Hoops fans.
Crean would be interesting at Penn State, but UGA would just pony up dough for someone else.
Brownell might be at time to move. He did well this year, but started on the hot seat.
Shaka Smart's name is coming up everywhere, isn't it?
From GT's side, I absolutely agreed then and agree now.Well, as a reminder, many of us on here said regardless of any outcome, here were our chances of parting ways with CJP at the end of this season:
(Thankfully we were proven right for good reasons.)
