So Steve Alford got a reported 10-yr deal from Nevada. That is quite impressive.

Bobby Hurley has elected to remain at ASU and Tim Cluess is now the frontrunner for the St. John's job. IMO Cluess would be a better pick. He has taken Iona to the Tourney 6 of the last 8 seasons. His big downside is he is 60 yrs old. He is a former St. John's player and was a HS coach for 15 years in NY city before moving to the college ranks.

Sheesh, it's hard to hire bball coaches nowadays.

I wonder if the search firms (and their networks) are mucking things up for schools that don't hire them to handle the process?

Think the problem is that SJ is too damn cheap. Wouldn't pony up buyout for cluess.
