I don't think I am obsessing. I just find it incredibly disrespectful that someone would accept a scholarship and yet not be able to correctly state the name of the school. It's not hard.
I don’t think he called us GTU, looked more like the company running this did.

As far as I’m concerned if he’s a good kid, actually is interested in being at GT, doesn’t repeatedly walk the bases loaded with no outs in a 1 run game, doesn’t give up 7 runs in 1/3 of an inning with a 10 run lead, etc I think we should cut him some slack.

And this is my point when I say player feedback gets brutal on these “fan” blogs

Bo Walker drafted in the 11th round.
Cole Royer drafted in the 20th round.

Believe that’s it so far. Haven’t seen Rogers, Shouse, or Hernandez who (along with Walker) were Top 100 PG guys. Rogers potentially getting to campus seems like a monster win as a Top 25 guy. Somebody more in the loop confirm?

Yeah, those were the only 2 drafted. Going to be quite the competition behind the plate this fall with Lackey, Rogers, and Waugh

It's a big time win for those guys to make it to campus. Waugh seems like more of a DH option than catcher, right? Probably a competition between Lackey and Rogers?
I think Rogers can also play 1B. I think Lackey has huge upside. Wouldn’t mind bringing Rogers along behind the plate and giving Lackey a breather. Either way you gotta get these freshmen on the field and not sit them especially behind a 5th year transfer..

I saw that Rogers can play 3B too, so he definitely has a fit somewhere.

I was looking up summer stats and Lackey has only hit in the .230s but he also has 3 HRs and more BBs/HBPs than strikeouts which is huge to me. He also has 16 SBs to only 1 CS which is incredible for a catcher. Rogers and Waugh will have to be incredible to unseat him behind the plate. Lackey just has so many tools and is just now tapping into them.

I also saw that Neises is hitting .342 in the same league and really feel that he needs a spot on the diamond, especially as a lefty. So I don't know how it will all play out but I am once again not concerned about the offense.

Lackey was batting .170 or so for a good part of the season. Once he started platooning regularly, he raised his BA fairly significantly. Wouldn't surprise me if he batted .300 down the stretch.

He did that while playing great defense too. He might be the best defensive catcher that we've had since Weiters and there have been some pretty damn good ones.
