I haven't read this entire thread. If no one has already said so, the only impact of Coach Collins that I am really concerned with is that he wins ball games. The hype train can wait. Winning builds hype and not the other way around. The caboose doesn't tow the engine.

That was standard practice at Tech. Every weekend, except during football games, then it was only half full.

And on hell week, the library was like a sell-out event.

I think it meant more 20 years ago. Now, with 678, 770, 706 etc ... the metro area is diluted with numbers so it may not have the impact it might have earlier. It's clever though and I hope it works.

Tech may very well improve recruiting and even (gasp) on field performance. My concern is the changing demographics of the fanbase. Older fans (who donate $$$) are dying off and I'm not aware that newer graduates are stepping up to replace them.

I have one example, my son and daughter and law are Tech grads and are supporting Tech football. Hopefully I will be dying off a few years from now...
