Al did some U of Fla. baseball, Akron Zips and Atlanta Braves games with Jack Hurst. Fantastic baseball announcer, too! He shared some old tapes with me. My step-dad carpeted all the G.T. dressing rooms from his furniture stores here locally, so that Tech and the radio station would hire Mr. C.
He was a tremendous advertising salesman. All of those sponsors for the games, came through Al, Sr.(I won’t name individual names, because a few still have suites at BDS/GF and are retired from Coke and Delta, to name a couple of the companies). EverReady Batteries, First Union, Fuddruckers, could go on and on, for radio.
