@Eric ditto on Simmons. I thought his first step was explosive, and he has that long frame to be an MJ-type pass rusher! Remember too, that MJ got to redshirt and it took awhile for him to put on that weight and be the terror we remwmbwr

Would any of us have wanted to take CTR's job with the roster situation he was handed at the beginning of this season? There have been some rough moments this season and some really good ones, however, if you remember, many of us were worried we wouldn't even be able to finish the season (in competitive fasion-not literally) with as little depth as we had starting out. When looking at it through that lens, it is hard to be too critical of the job Roof has done.

Yes, for a $500K salary even if they fired me for being atrocious. Wouldn't turn that down for much!

Thru 7 weeks, we were the worst D in power 5. Yesterday we held a decent O to 6 pts, without Green. This is not just scheme.
I think that shows that it's probably mostly scheme. We've also played some offenses that aren't great. Although I think NCST has a decent offense. Playing more man coverage and getting in the QBs face has made all the difference in the world IMO.

First of year on many boards stated we would win eight and we have won nine......not due to our abundance of athletes but due to the fact that the big uns had lost many skilled players....only Dook and NC really surprused me since I had them as a win but we balance that with wins of Miami and Clemson and Vt....we have done well..........are we a world beater ? No but we are playing error free football and winning and that is what counts.

If Roof can get consistently decent defenses over the next few years then he will be our next head ball coach imo
I would think he would be a favorite.......if he can do well with a undersized dl and we can win......he may be a candidate.

Stoudt was less than mediocre but ......his thows were not hurried but..........we had the coverage down and were in right place at right time.........DABO stayed too long with him and for that I thank him.
Exactly. Stoudt was being played well and schemed against. His mistakes were really not pressure induced.

I'm good friends and with a Ole Godsey teammate...he asked Godsey if he would ever be interested in returning...he shot it down with authority.

He has his hands full as Texans QB coach - got a replacement playing very well. From last year, the biggest improvement is at qb - folks know it is goose
