Look you can come at me with all your facts but to be the best you gotta beat the best so seeding doesn’t really matter

If we didn’t have two bad home losses, we’d be 19-6 and looking at a 4 seed.

It seems the committee holds you responsible for bad losses more than they forgive you for good wins.

We are in. Just win games and you can get to theFinal Four. There aren't any easy games past round 1 (possibly). Just beat the team you play in each and every round. Only one team is going to do that. Might as well be us. The other 63 teams are going to make excuses.

Yes it is. We had one game. They have a season of results. As the season went, just win.
Sorry to disagree on one point. One game? We just won 8 games in a row in the ACC with a few of those against the “higher seeds”. We had the toughest schedule in the ACC. I remember a time when how you finished the season meant more how you started. And strength of schedule mattered. As well as head to heads. I just had to rant a bit But I do agree with you - just win Jackets.

Illinois is quite literally the worst matchup for GT. I would take our chances with Gonzaga over them 100/100 times.

Watching the Titus & Tate reaction show.

They think we should've been in Clemson's spot and Pastner is supposedly coming up on the show.

I love the hoopvision short videos. A couple of thoughts
  • That offense Loyola is defending looks a lot like our offense. That looks like a rough matchup for us.
  • Loyola gives almost the same buffer to the player on the backside corner as we do, but the defender’s footing looks better than ours—he’s got a good range of vision to the backside player and anyone who would come into his zone.
  • Looks like the game will be defense against defense.
good news: their 5-man is not a post scorer. he plays on the perimeter like a point-center in their 5-out offense. i studied earlier this year but cant remember the details of the top of my head.

It’s kind of weird that they have a 5-out, but a low 3pt%. I’m still a little naive about offenses, and when I see 5-out, I think I’m gonna see a ton of shooting from outside the arc. They seem to be really efficient at 2pt shooting. They’re really good at what we defend well. This game could be a slugfest.

I’d love us to be able to use Saba or Howard the way Loyola uses their 5. I don’t think Saba’s ready to play a lot of P5 defense yet, but that would give Howard a role in the offense and keep him on the court for defense.

Aside from Bubba (who is the shortest on both teams), we’re about the same height as them. Saba is the biggest player on either team—if he were a player getting playing time. Moses at 6’9” (listed height) isn’t giving up height to Loyola. They have a bunch of 6’4 and 6’7” players, but it won’t be like UNC or FSU.

Offhand comment: I don’t see how Clemson is ranked ahead of us AND UNC. Six weeks ago, that would make sense—now, I don’t see it.

I get that our OOC had some bad losses but putting equal emphasis on games that happened 4 months ago vs now is silly to me. Recency should count for something. Teams evolve and change over the season. Players get hurt. People get better. People leave teams.

Would be happy if they just flip flopped us and Clemson, but oh well. Would have been happier with Syracuse’s spot tbh.

Not mad at all with our seed. Just mad with who is ahead of us (Clemson and unc). Lets go prove the committee wrong!

He can facilitate from the perimeter but he's a post scorer. Averaging 15 a game and doesn't shoot threes at all. But prepare for plenty of hooks on Moses.
very true. good point. i meant to say he is not a "traditional" low post scorer with a height mismatch on moses like many GT fans fear (garza cockburn etc). my memory (not sure how accurate) is that he scores on rolls, cuts, putbacks. perhaps some post-ups on the block but not sure the quality of low post defense he faces in the MVC? here are some of the details on his scoring...
