The final this year will have 1 of SDSU, Princeton, Creighton, KState, or FAU.Need Miami to win tonight, and all the number one seeds will be gone from the tournament.

Maybe the ACC wasn't so bad after all. At least we have a representative left. Big 10 and SEC gone. With the SDSt victory, no SEC team remains in the men's bracket.
Whoo Hoo. And NO BIG or SEC teams. BIG is always over rated. I really thought SEC was best overall. With 8 teams left the breakdown is
Big 12 - 2 (Texas 2, Kansas St 3 )
Big East - 2 (UConn 4, Creighton 6)
ACC - 1 (Miami 5)
West Coast - 1 (Gonzaga 3)
Mountain West - (San Diego St 5)
Conference USA - 1 (though FAU is moving to the American this summer, 9)
No #1 seeds made the Elite Eight (first time in Tourney history) and only 1 two seed.
There have only been 3 NCAA Tourney's in history with no #1 seeds in the Final Four 1980, 2006, 2011.
Only one #1 seed has made it to the Final Four in the last 2 Tourneys (Kansas last year).
Big XII has been the best for yearsWhoo Hoo. And NO BIG or SEC teams. BIG is always over rated. I really thought SEC was best overall.
That's true since the tourney expanded to 64 teams in '85. Believe they started publishing seeds in 1979? Not positive, but believe that's correct. So hard to say about whether a 1 seed missed the final 8 in earlier years. No #1 seeds made the Elite Eight (first time in Tourney history)
They're always really competitive and have really good teams at the top. Frequently, just like ACC of late, they are top heavy and they have 3 - 6 crap teams at the bottom. One of the cool things has been that they have different teams in the mix most years. Tang has KSU rolling but they were a yawn most years. Baylor came from the ashes under Drew. OU is up and down. OKSU too. Their conference tourney is a blast to watchBig XII has been the best for years

Tell me why-iy ...
Why did the KState guard pass the ball in that last possession?
Top scorer for the game passing the ball in that situation to a post player above the arc means 1 thing, nowell choked. He panicked when he realized he took too much time to get the ball up the court and was looking for bailout.. Sure he got 30, but pressure busts pipes.Tell me why-iy ...

That play should have been worked on lots of times in practice for months. No excuse for screwing it up in March. Every player should know his role in the final seconds of close games. It's tough. That couldn't have been the 'play'. I think the kid had a panicky moment despite being fairly clutchy all tournament.
He faked out everybody in the universe with that pass, including the post player. One camera angle caught his reaction as the ball was coming his way ...
I caught that tooCheck out this image of Nowell from high school. Jose is to his right on defense. I bet those two went at it.View attachment 14187
