Rivalry week will probably matter a lot this year. ACC had a winning record vs. SEC last year and the media and committee completely disregarded it. If the SEC has a winning record this year they’ll absolutely take it a run with it, citing how much better and deeper the SEC is.SMU winning the ACCC is the ACC’s best shot at 2 teams simply because Miami is one of the media darlings. I don’t know if a 10-2 Da U is more beloved than some 2 loss SEC teams, but they certainly have a better shot at an at-large than SMU.
Clemson and Louisville are 2 of the ACC’s top tier teams, they really need to take care of business against mid SCar and Kentucky. Clemson may actually be able to sneak in at 10-2 in that scenario depending on what other kinds of madness happen. Maybe Norvell can rally his troops to get up and beat a wounded Florida team, and the Jackets take down the dawgs on Black Friday for a full sweep. ACC definitely needs to go at least 2-2 on rivalry week to avoid total media shutdown.
