IMO biggest reason was not getting the point guard situation figured out after Jack/Bynum left. Why he never could? Probably any number of reasons contributed some in, and some out, of his control.

Didn't also lose some key assistance to head coaching jobs?

Everybody wants write this team off, but they can still make it. Just need to win 1 of the next 3 (@Syracuse, vs Duke, vs Miami) to stay on track. Do that and they're capable of going 9-9 in the ACC the rest of the way to earn a bid.
