Thanks for compiling the list.

Any thoughts on which one is most accurate/realistic?
All of these rankings need to be taken with a grain of salt this early in the season. That said, I don't love the ESPN RPI - it's an attempt on their part to replicate the actual RPI rankings. I pay closest attention to the Kenpom and Sagarin rankings. Very statistically driven based on factual, historical evidence. BPI is basically a power index that not only takes into account your performance thus far, but also looks forward and projects the future performance of teams - don't love that part about it.

And right in the middle is TeamRankings that has us at #38 today. https://www.teamrankings.com/ncaa-basketball/team/georgia-tech-yellow-jackets/

Yes, meant to include that one as well and forgot. Thank you

For college football, I know the site which compares the accuracy of different predictive services in calling games and against the spread. Is there such a site for basketball? (I know there isn't for baseball.)

I was looking for something like that earlier, but couldn't find one

We've dropped to 64 in Sagarin, 48 in Team Rankings, 68 in Massey, 115 in ESPN RPI, and 84 in Ken Pomeroy.

I know it's early, but the RPI rankings and the results we're seeing in ACC play are out of sync. Clemson #163???

Clemson lost to every decent team they played pre-season. Their OOC wins are all to cupcakes. The formula looks at the whole season's strength of schedule and wins. Clemson will pull down the strength of schedule of the league.

the NCAA posts their RPI rankings here

While i'm not actually a fan of RPI (there are others I think more accurately reflect the strength of teams) - it is the only one that matters as it is the only one that is allowed in the room with the selection committee.

RamblinRed

GT currently sitting at # 41. Good spot with some great opportunities to improve that number on the horizon.

Edited to add: GT's next opponent, Notre Dame sitting at #58

Only arguable bad loss at the moment is ETSU, they're currently sitting at 134 (9-6, 2nd in the Southern).

Let's hope that they can win their league and get into the tournament. By year's end, that loss likely will not look so bad.

That model would not work. (Possible 2nd rd match up with Miami) Teams from the same conference cannot meet until the sweet 16 at the earliest unless they changed that rule.

That model would not work. (Possible 2nd rd match up with Miami) Teams from the same conference cannot meet until the sweet 16 at the earliest unless they changed that rule.

Did some research and found this:

Teams within a conference that have played three times in the regular season cannot meet before the regional final (Elite Eight). If two teams have played twice during the season, they cannot meet before the regional semifinal (Sweet Sixteen). That rule applies to non-conference matchups as well.

Since we only play Miami once, I think this would be fine
