I thing we have the basis of a top-of-the-league starting rotation ... Newcomb-Folty-Soroka. Not totally sold on McCarthy, but I don't think he's around for the long-term.

Brandon McCarthy reminds me of former Braves pitchers Charlie Leibrandt or Doyle Alexander. If i were the Braves i would trade for another top shelf pitcher at the trade deadline or in the offseason

Julio Teheran is on the 10 day DL with a bruised thumb. I think there's something more wrong with Julio Teheran than a bruised thumb. I think his throwing arm may be screwed up.

I always thought his consistency was what was messed up but maybe that's just me.

Unless the wheels come off, it looks like we are officially a contender ... the Braves front office needs to start thinking "this year" for trade deadline tweaks (mainly bullpen).

Bullpen day for the Padres. The one thing that they do have is an excellent pen.
