Currently the Cubs have the second best record after Washington for a Wild Card. They are 12 over .500, while the Braves are 34 over. That’s an 11 game lead over Chicago for a playoff spot.

I'll just be happy for the Braves to have 100+ wins:cigar:
My ultimate goal was to come back and get 90 again, not slip the other way. It takes so long in baseball when you draft H.S. players to rebuild. Particularly young pitchers. I figured low 90’s would get us in the postseason. 3 more wins = 91.
To get to 100, you are going beyond a rebuild, and need more than some lucky breaks. Braves have good defense, nice starting pitching with depth at AAA, patchwork bullpen and usually 1-6 is solid in the lineup. Clutch hitting to come from behind working counts and our bench seems to work no matter who we put on it.

The team is fun to watch with younger players primarily. Solid farm system being braced for future success. When you have talent, generally that keeps the losing streaks at a minimum. If we can come with a couple of Soroka and Fried’s next year....like Wilson, Anderson or maybe Wright...you almost guarantee 90 wins.

Aye Fredo, look over there!

Hey guys, now that Fred isn't looking, wouldn't it be beyond hilarious if the gNats end up getting caught and passed by CHI and AZ? The tiny gNat tears would be glorious.

Oh, you're back Fredo? Nevermind, I thought I saw Bigfoot or somethin'.
I couldn't look away. It would not be hilarious... but it would be well-deserved. The good news (as far as I'm concerned) is that it is all on them now. If they are good enough... then they'll get there. If not... I will find a way to enjoy the postseason at a much lower intensity without them.
