I may be repeating myself; but early returns are Rizzo did pretty good (considering what he had to work with) at deadline & improved the bullpen...marginally. Doolittle is getting ridden too hard. I think he's on pace for 71 appearances. 61 was previous high (IIRC). He's been called on a few times to finish games in non-save situations. Gives you an idea how little faith Martinez has had in rest of the pen. Rodney is a great story... but he's an old guy & you have to wonder if he has legs for what he'll be asked to do. Sooooo... hopefully, the adds...Strickland, Hudson, Elias (sp?) will provide some relief to those guys.

Doolittle also is a fastball only guy. If he is missing location or can't get the velocity... he gets crushed. (see overuse again)

Nationals need some moons to align to get to playoffs and then make a run.

You should pull for the Braves because the Mets may charge ahead of the Nationals if they win this series;)

YJF2018, stole my thunder. Unless you want to try to make up 6.5 games, vs. a team that is due for a winning streak & has the potential to get hotter when Swanson comes back. If Keuchel and a few of those relievers straighten up....and Markakis gets back out there....and O’Dont/O’Day decides to pitch/showcase for some team to pick him up next year....O.K., if that doesn’t convince you-I’m rooting for the Nats. right after the Braves(or before all the other teams should Atlanta exhaust their chances).

Also, should you need further reasoning...CFDH and all the other heartbreaking teams at G.T., we share with you. You are a BROTHER, no matter if one, both or neither of our teams play into the bowels of October. Apologize for using that noun “b.....” as I was thinking of another “b” word we both share, called Bullpens.

Possibly he got those blinkey eyes from watching the bullpen twirl from the dugout?

A shock jock was talking about Atlanta not needing to take a 10-0 lead tonight, so the ‘pen will be tested. His partner reasoned we can have a close game Wednesday to test them, but wants a blow out today. The producer after the break thought we were playing the Reds. They were local, and I guess get paid for these opinions and mistakes. My initial observation is no lead is safe with these relievers. Webb is the best of them this season and he has an elbow impingement. Second reaction is why test these guys, sure they will implode eventually. Good teams like L.A. who swept us 3 earlier, will expose us when it counts! Sorry if I’m negative. I’ve said all season the ‘pen is the weakness of the team. Not that it’s a secret or anything. Even during their warm streak.

Didn’t realize Washington played. I took the day off.
That proves you’re 1/2 game more ahead of the Mets(who were off), than I thought.
Makes our(YJF2018 and myself)first point of finishing ahead of them better. I’d rather have a lead in the standings over any team instead of being behind a club. Chasing is more difficult in my book after 120 games. If Atlanta goes 21-21, Washington has to go 29-15 to win the division. Braves go 26-16, Nats. have to go 33-11 to tie.o_O:shifty:;);):)

Was hoping to get 7 or 8 out of him tonight.
Not looking that way.
Do we know who is taking the bullpen roles after a day off? YJF2018?
