Me thinks Kevin Gausman is due to pitch a beauty tonight. Maybe 2 runs or less, 8 innings and 10 k’s? He needs to go with all four pitches, see what’s working, settle on 3 with something off speed.

Much on the line for him with Folty on the cusp of returning!

With AA not wanting to trade catcher Alex Jackson to the Tigers does that mean that Alex Jackson is being put on the fast track to the majors? I believe the Braves think that Alex Jackson is the Braves catcher of the future.

thats a good question. I was guessing the backup catcher trade was an indicator that they didn't think he was ready for the majors this year ....

Hopefully Alex Jackson will wind up another Javy Lopez in the future

It looks good on signing McCann for another year, if he doesn’t hang up the spikes.
Could be a plus if the Braves can find a suitor for Flowers next year(can’t see them eating that multi-million $ deal)....then Jackson ought to be ready as the 2nd catcher.
All of this would still be a bridge to Shane Langeliers in the future, possibly with Contreras or Jackson as the backup. Alex Jackson was like the 14th player taken in the draft a few years back by the Mariners. I think he is about 23 y.o.
