Somebody break down this trade, please. Lookin at you @Buzzbomb
Personally, I think the Rangers get the better of this. Martin is a FA at the end of this season. Prorated amount of 2m., which is roughly 1/3 of that. He’s more of a set-up guy. The Braves will insert him into the Minter role, where he gives FNS a break and otherwise alternates with Swarzak in the eighth. So a Braves want-to-be back end of the game guy. Forcing it, unless they come up with Yates or Diaz tomorrow. Unlikely.

I believe Allard becomes a 3/4 starter in a few years. Steady, young guy, who has performed well at every level. Would have been in Gwinnett next year.

I don't think there will be an earth shattering trade for the Braves:cigar:

Thanks for the insight(s). Next question, how can I get hair as glorious as this Culberson cat?

Plus side is he doesn’t walk guys. He was sensational in Japan, parlaying that into a 2 year, 4 m. deal with Texas. 6’8” 215.

Down side: Not great last year, or in first tour of MLB. He’s not young, at 33 y.o.
Contract allows FAgency for 2020. We just traded a 21 yo. lefty who will be at AAA, since the Rangers will call him up in September. We had him blocked a little, down in Mississippi.

Allard has been at AAA the last 2 years. He has potential, but we have higher ranked prospects with more potential. He was also blocking Anderson from being called up to AAA. I would have liked to package him with a few other prospects to get Grienke, but I don't necessarily hate the move.

That's worth the price of admission right there. Now if you tell me he's able to get the opposing pitcher out, you've got me sold.
