The Braves win 1-0 over the Marlins on a walk off Brian McCann base hit. The 53-36 1st place in the NL East Atlanta Braves now lead the 2nd place in the NL East 46-42 Philadelphia Phillies by 6.0 games and the 3rd place in the NL East 45-42 Washington Nationals by 6.5 games. The winning pitcher for the Braves is Your Friendly Neighborhood Sliderman who is 4-2 and the losing pitcher for the Marlins is 0-3 Jose Quijada.

Like to see him in the 7th or 8th inning with AJ Minter, after we acquire a Will Smith type to go along with a guy such as Mike Minor. Yes, Atlanta needs to calculate who they would move for these players. It will take more than our leftovers on the big league 40 man roster like Inciarte, Duvall, Folty, and Gausman. Tehran might stay as a 5th starter if we were to deal Wilson. Bryce has his curve working now.

Pitching is where you’ll see the difference as the Dodgers rank 1st in the NL and the Atlanta Braves are fifth. But it’s even more dramatic when you compare the starters where LA still ranks first but the Braves are 11th.

On the flip side, the Atlanta Braves are first in the NL in bullpen ERA while the Dodgers are fifth. Yes, our walks are down from last year. I’ll give Rick Kranitz some credit for that.

I agree that the Braves need to trade for another starting pitcher and a shutdown closer(y) If the Braves do that it's will be possible for the Braves to make it to the World Series:cigar:
