Our lineup is on fire. It's really fun to watch.
A Mets fan on the Mets Refugees Message board said "Wake Me Up When The Bullpen ERA Gets Over 9"My God this is awesome.
thats one way to keep the bullpen from screwing things up.The Braves lead the Mets 12-3 in the 8th inning on a mammoth Ozzie Albies homer
Charlie Blackmon of the Rockies in 2017 had 101 RBIs while Darrin Erstad of the Angels has 100 RBIs in 2000has a leadoff hitter ever had 100+ RBI? Acuna has 49 in 73 games ...

Apologize if this reeks in negativity, however we have given up 49 runs(almost 5 per game). I’m not going to pretend that we could average close to 9 per game vs. the Dodgers in a playoff scenario. My major concern is the Bullpen. It needs to be cleaned up. We have a few good set-up men, and Grant Dayton deserves a chance this time. Cautiously optimistic with Tehran, Folty, although Fried needs his innings watched closely and always keep him around 90 pitches. Yes, even during a no-no.... Braves have scored 90 runs in 11 games !!
Depending on how good Keuchel pitches in the next month, it's still possible that we may need a starting pitcher and bullpen help IMO. There's no doubt that the offense has helped mask the pitching issues we still have. Typically, games tighten up in the playoffs and you're less likely to face the back-end rotation guys against most teams. We've got to be able to win some 3-2 and 4-3 type games to be real contenders.Apologize if this reeks in negativity, however we have given up 49 runs(almost 5 per game). Like I brought up a month ago and Mike gave the statistics on yesterday: Mike Minor would make the rotation sizzle, and give us the option of moving Folty to closer(his velocity has really increased)and limiting some of Fried & Soroka’s innings. Minor could be a Major addition. If they serious about limiting Fried/Soroka innings then i wouldn't be surprised to see a 6man rotation soon.Like I brought up a month ago and Mike gave the statistics on yesterday: Mike Minor would make the rotation sizzle, and give us the option of moving Folty to closer(his velocity has really increased)and limiting some of Fried & Soroka’s innings.
....and a Minor detail would be the compensation, which should be less than Bumgarner of the Giants. A 36 y.o. won’t cost more than a prospect.Minor could be a Major addition. If they serious about limiting Fried/Soroka innings then i wouldn't be surprised to see a 6man rotation soon.
Either would help fill those few empty seats at Trust Park. What do you think the Nats would command in a trade? If y'all were the owners of the Braves would you try to trade for Washington starters Matt Scherzer or Stephen Strasburg?
Probably a couple of minor league pitchers like Kolby Allard,Christian Beck,Freddy Tarnok and Thomas Burrows plus probably a backup or two on the Braves.Either would help fill those few empty seats at Trust Park. What do you think the Nats would command in a trade?
