Matt Joyce has done a better job than expected. Last year, we had a couple of guys on the bench that did well in April and May(then fizzled)until Camargo, Duda, etc. joined in the offensive fray.

Here was that stat. from the other day, which is a little misleading:
The Braves bullpen isn't the worst in the NL East: Braves: 17th (4.53) Phillies: 22nd (5.44) Marlins: 24th (5.84) Mets: 27th (6.18) Nationals: 30th (7.71).

Closers on the other four clubs have better numbers than ours(see my previous post on pg. 168). The most consistent has been this piece meal group led by Jacob Webb. Josh Tomlin has been the rock during the first 35 games. The least paid, salary wise, have helped the most. And no news on O’Day? Taking up half of the entire bullpen salary budget! Just so Brach can pitch for the Cubs this season, we are stuck with that other contract.

I would gladly take 1-2 vs, Dodgers and a split 2-2 with Arizona.
The Phillies have 3 at St. Louis, but then have 3 against the lowly Royals.
Going to be tough not to lose ground over the next two series.

That’s why sweeping the Marlins, not just winning the series, was so important IMO.
