Why would it be embezzlement? They have an expense account to buy stuff for potential clients. I don't understand why any of this is illegal. I've read a fair amount about it and have yet to find anything convincing.

Wasn’t there something said about creating fake invoices to get cash?

Sums things up well, unfortunately (for folks like me rooting for the world to burn) ...

ETA: Also interesting in 'so you're sayin' there's a chance' news ...

Funny txt exchanges between Ga$$nola and Bill Self ...

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...-knew-adidas-role-silvio-de-sousa-recruitment

A few hours later, Gassnola texted Self: "Hall of Fame. When you have 5 minutes and your [sic] alone call me."

Later that night, after Self hadn't responded, Gassnola texted him again: "I talked with Fenny."

"We good," Self asked via text.

"Always," Gassnola replied. "That's [sic] was light work. Ball is in his court now."

Surely GT bball is happy to hear this ...
Self responded: "I'm happy with Adidas. Just got to get a couple real guys."

Gassnola replied: "In my mind, it's KU, bill self. Everyone else fall into line. Too (expletive) bad. That's what's right for Adidas basketball. And I know I am RIGHT. The more you win, have lottery pics [sic] and you happy. That's how it should work in my mind."

Self responded: "That's how ur works. At UNC and Duke." Gassnola replied at Kentucky as well.

If I were a Duke fan, I'd probably still find a way to root for them despite the bullsh*t. I'd probably die inside a little though.

So, is the lesson in all of this that GT simply needs to learn how to cheat MUCH better? Did we hire the wrong guy because he won't cheat?

We have a tongue in cheek saying in our sailing club. "If you are not cheating you're not trying." Are we not really trying very hard to be good?

Strong words in response to Baghdad K's act ...

https://sports.yahoo.com/coach-k-sh...-thinks-hoops-corruption-trial-052601836.html

That he’s playing the Iraqi Information Minister bit that seems to have become popular with the upper echelons of college athletics is beneath him. Krzyzewski is better than this, smarter than this, more rooted in reality than this. He’s West Point for crying out loud, not someone prone to Roy Williams’ Mayberry-babe-in-the-woods routine or Mark Emmert’s head-in-the-sand act.

Heh. "Mayberry" routine?

There's only a couple reasons why these dudes refuse to acknowledge the cheating in their sport out loud.
